Transforming Ships into Mobile Power Plants: A Vision for Net-Zero Ports ⚡ As the world increasingly prioritizes sustainability, the maritime industry is on the cusp of a revolutionary transformation. Imagine a future where ships are not just vessels for transport but mobile power plants that help ports achieve net-zero emissions. This innovative concept involves retrofitting ships to utilize Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) waste to generate heat and electricity, turning waste into a valuable resource and significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Why focus on making ports net zero by 2050 when it would be better to have ships provide sustainable energy to ports? This approach would benefit both sectors. The port sector has financial limitations to achieve net zero by 2050 without external funding. 🛳 Let's see what happens in the upcoming years!

Our sustainability report for 2023 is out, and we are happy to share it with you! While we are facing serious challenges regarding climate impact as part of the automotive industry, we are proud to be on the road to sustainable mobility. Here are a few important steps we have taken this past year: - Full launch of our car sharing platform, helping to reduce the need for individual cars; - Continued use of renewable electricity in our Clubs, offices, and car factories; - First Life Cycle Assessment of our plug-in hybrid car, the Lynk & Co 01. Macek Technika started the year with powerful steps towards sustainability 🌳. From January 1 – 2025 we only use electricity that is 100 % generated by Dutch Windmills (Nederlandse Wind). This windmill electricity is certified CO2 free by electricity producer Vattenfall. The official certificate of the “Nederlandse Wind” will be communicated in the short term on our website.   This means that all our plastic injection moulded products are manufactured CO2 free in 2025!   From January 2 - 2025 we replaced our 3 fuel company cars with new 100 % electric cars 🚗.   These transitions are in line with our commitment to reduce, as a production company, our impact on the environment and actively contribute to a greener future 🌍.
