On Monday we paused to celebrate the start of this historic construction project. 👍 $179M referendum with over 67% of voter support 🏫 13 schools serving 5000+ students 👷♀️ 3 phases of construction, with the last to be completed by fall of 2026 Truly appreciate the overwhelming community support in building a better tomorrow for Downers Grove School District 58 students with updated, modern schools. Truly honored and super excited to serve another term on the great Downers Grove Grade School District 58 Team!   Four years ago, I campaigned with 3 key priorities: 1. Smart Long-Term Facilities Planning 2. Deliberate Curriculum Development 3. Transparent & Candid Communication   As I take the Oath of Office again, I reflect on our District's progress in these 3 areas -- some solid results!!   I selfishly continue learn a great deal about the power of communication and relationships from this dedicated Team and wonderful Community. Tremendous value packed into this short course: “Project Portfolio Management Foundations” by Andy Jordan!  I don’t think the #projectmanagement community can over stress that the Portfolio is responsible for delivering the goals of the business. We sometimes get caught up executing the projects/programs with tunnel vision instead of ensuring the expected benefits the business needs are achieved.  In my experience, the strongest PMs elevate themselves beyond the on scope/on time/on budget thinking and successfully influence the org to evaluate tradeoffs amongst various programs in a constantly evolving business landscape.
