This news marks a decisive end to TenneT's decade-long political maneuvering and unfounded claims about superconducting cables. The truth has finally prevailed. This technology is essential for eliminating the transmission network bottlenecks that the Dutch grid is facing, a result of the short-sightedness of TenneT NL's management and the owner. What a stark contrast to the TenneT NL official findings on this subject! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eJtQzsct
We have successfully completed a #highvoltage test of a demo of the superconducting power cable system, SuperLink, in Munich, Germany. The full-size test cable system was 150 m long. The final potential application for the 500 MVA SuperLink cable will be the longest superconducting cable ever, with a length of approx. 15 km. The superconducting cable for the SuperLink project has been developed by NKT in cooperation with Stadtwerke München GmbH, THEVA and Linde, as well as two universities and was successfully tested at a substation in Munich. #powercables #superconductor #powergrid
