This is part 2 to continue the conversation on how to be an awesome QA Engineer. ①  Do more than you are asked to do.  You feel better about yourself by going the extra mile and your teammates will have better morale to do better as well! I noticed it encourages other teammates to strive to do a better job. You can simply say go ahead and lead by example! ②  Don’t be too consumed by focusing on one thing. It’s very important to stop and zoom out to see the working software pieces interact with each other, and not solely focus on each piece at the time. It helps to see all the scenarios users may experience. ③ Be always open to learning new things.  Technology is always evolving and the pace of improvement is getting faster! It helps you be a more valuable team player and be valuable to the job market. ④ Keep knowledgebase up-to-date.  Technology is always changing and we should update our documentation to make sure we are still on the same page. ⑤ Be flexible.  The best way to be effective as QA is to be highly adaptable. Sometimes QA Engineers need to test various technologies at once or even a brand new technology that wasn’t available before. Being flexible and willing to learn new stuff brings you on top of your career.
