Understanding Depression and the Power of Anticipation. #Depression is a serious mental health condition that affects around 280 million people worldwide. It symptoms can severely impact one's quality of life, making even simple daily tasks seem insurmountable. During a workshop on #Depression with students from Devon Recovery Learning Community, we discussed the importance of anticipation - having scheduled activities in our days create a sense of stability and predictability, routine and purpose, significantly enhancing our mental well-being. Engaging in meaningful activities gives us something to work towards. It provides a reason to get out of bed and face the day. Even small, regular activities can make a significant difference in managing depression and enhancing our quality of life. Dedicate time each day to activities you love - learn something new, schedule walks, plan regular meet-ups with friends or family. Take small steps each day to fill your calendar with meaningful activities. Your #mentalhealthmatters.
