In the hustle and bustle of our careers, it's easy to lose sight of something crucial: our job titles don't define us. 🚀 While our work is undoubtedly important, it's just one facet of our identity. 🧩 Having navigated through various career milestones myself, I've come to realize that our worth extends far beyond the confines of our professional roles. 🌈 It's about the passions we pursue, the connections we cultivate, and the personal growth we experience. ✨ So, here's my advice: let's not let our job titles dictate our entire identity. 🙅♂️ Instead, let's embrace the richness of our lives outside the office—the hobbies, the relationships, and the adventures that make us who we are. 🌟 By recognizing our value beyond the workplace, we can find greater fulfillment and resilience in all aspects of life. 💪 Let's celebrate our multifaceted identities and strive for a more balanced and meaningful existence. 🎉 Remember, you're more than just a job title. 🌟 Let's embark on a journey of self-discovery and purpose beyond the confines of our professional roles. 🚀 Here's to embracing the full spectrum of our identities and finding joy in every moment! 🥂

REALTOR® in New York & Fairfield County, Connecticut since 2013 with $100M+ in Sales | Passionate about Simplifying Real Estate | Expert in Matchmaking Properties to Buyers
As I approach my 35th birthday tomorrow, I reflect on my 10-year career as a full-time real estate agent. At 34, I am often considered young in an industry where the average age of a realtor is 57. This age gap has led to perceptions of inexperience, but my track record of having $100,000,000 + in sales speaks for itself. In recent years, I have carved out a niche working with sellers who previously listed their homes. Perhaps coincidently, the agents who were initially hired were much older than me. In each case, the property remained unsold until I took over the listing and successfully closed the deal. When asked why they switched to me, the sellers often cited the previous agent's lack of commitment to real estate, favoring leisure over work. Who can blame them? I hope to be enjoying life at that age too! But it's a reminder that success in this industry requires full-time commitment, continuous learning, and staying updated on technology and marketing trends. Which is a part time job in itself, as marketing trends and technology upgrades are ever-evolving. Age, in my opinion, should not be a determining factor in evaluating a professional's capabilities. Instead, we should focus on a person’s work ethic, commitment, and results. I often think of Camille Vasquez (Attorney to Johnny Depp in the defamation case) who has talked about overcoming similar challenges in her profession. Her fascinating story has actually inspired this post. So hopefully next time we encounter a professional in any industry who challenges our preconceptions about age and experience, we will get to know them and their work. What we discover might pleasantly surprise us!

I was talking to my 16-year-old daughter about her career. She asked me what would be the most important thing I did in my career that changed everything. This was easy. There’s one game changer behavior I advise everyone: go over what people expect from you. Don’t do only what they ask you to do. Go beyond the expectations, no matter what it takes. It’s simple but not necessarily easy. Just do it. Remember: you’ll always be paid for the value you generate for your company and/or your clients.

We never have to see ourselves as insignificant if we are willing to invest in the mission of helping others and if we dare to dream beyond what already exists. In the last year, I've had the incredible privilege to experience wonder. In my former job, I learned to look at spreadsheets and see factories, warehouses, containers on ships, products sitting on shelves and being rung through registers. All of that from a computer, benefitting real lives. I shifted my employment last April. Now, from what some people might see as dry work in fiscal, I see lives saved, a healthier population, children being helped. In all of that, I get to play a small part, not just in its execution, but in dreaming up ways to make that execution even better so we have the money to help more people. So if I may submit this for your consideration: Remember that every position on the team is important. YOUR ROLE is important. And please, never stop dreaming.
