Here’s all my trash for October!  What you won’t see in my trash, in comparison to the average person, are plastic bottles! I’ve gotten rid of nearly all plastic bottles (except yellow mustard and Sriracha) by: 1) Replacing it with glass or metal (e.g. sparkling water and condiments) 2) Switching to solid bars (e.g. shampoo and soap) 3) Ordering refills in reusable pouches that I mail back in pre-paid envelopes from refill shops like The Refill Shoppe (Ventura - https://lnkd.in/gF9TYnww) or the Good Fill (Nashville - https://thegoodfill.co/) 4) Or going without…the greenest, most plastic-free, zero waste thing you can buy is nothing! If you don’t need it, don’t buy it. Back to October’s trash, during the months where it’s one of my kids’ birthdays, there’s always more trash.  From online orders to things like a big bag of ice and charcuterie, it’s hard to avoid.  Yes, in theory, I could make 20 lbs of ice or whatever, but I’m not convinced I have room in the fridge (or really the time) for that. For this month, there will probably be less deli items since there’s less school and less online orders. Are you interested in trying a trash audit?
