Recently, I read two papers on lymphatic filariasis (LF) discussing Cofactor-independent phosphoglycerate mutase (iPGM) as a potential drug target for LF, published in Oxford Academy-2024 (PMID:37481257) and Bentham Publications-2023 (PMID:31244425). I'm glad to have discovered this back in 2015. Here are some insights from my original article if you're interested: https://lnkd.in/eTdnyXs3. We delved into the structural stability of Wb-iPGM through molecular dynamics simulations, shedding light on its interaction with cofactors 3-phosphoglycerate (3PGA) and Mn2+ ions. Notably, we unveiled domain motions and the catalytic significance of Mn2+ ions, offering insights crucial for drug development. #LymphaticFilariasis #DrugDiscovery #ResearchInsights #Structuralbiology #simulations #bioinformatics #computationalbiology
