Here's my hot take on why we don't have enough parking spaces in Islamabad: ● Most developers/builders/owners don't see the value of a parking spot and opt for maximum ground floor coverage to maximize return on investment ● According to most of our by-laws (correct me if I'm wrong), we cannot provide any building program in the basement which reduces the opportunity to compensate for its construction cost in the long run. ● The city of Islamabad was designed to be "walkable" but there is no infrastructure that supports the journey from our transit points to the desired commercial centers i.e. the markaz. The pretense that Islamabad is walkable therefore doesn't require too many parking considerations is inadequate and underdeveloped. Conclusion: the combination of stringent by-laws with little to no explanation and room for creativity coupled with private property owners leading the construction front all marry into a reality where we are left with no choice but to compromise the built experience and quality of life. It would be about time if we were to evaluate this in much more detail. I'm open to discuss this further for those interested! For the male and female workers, the complex offers comfortable spaces to relax and hang out after work. Safety and a friendly atmosphere are important here. The male and female executives have special blocks designed just for them. These blocks are really nice and fancy, with private spaces for alone time and also for meetings. The design of the complex is good for the environment too. It uses less energy and tries to be eco-friendly. Inspired by the concept of a conventional hourglass, the mini desk swamp cooler eliminates the need for a water pump, ensuring energy efficiency and low resource consumption. The main body of the cooler consists of two containers which are rotated manually so the water collected in the bottom container comes back to the top.
