In 2023, the art of glassmaking was included in the Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Now, the Federation of Crystal and Glass (Fédération du Cristal et du Verre) has decided to pay tribute to this extraordinary material in a dedicated exhibition: "Les gestes verriers”. This show will take place from 21st September 2024 to 19th January 2025 along the railings of the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, offering visitors the chance to discover the beauty of glass, the craftsmanship involved in its creation, and a great deal more. There will be 80 photographs on display, coming from 33 workshops throughout France, including those of Zignago Vetro. New exhibition design by FACTORY! When does the past end and the present begin, and what exists in the in-between? The nature of time is often explored through the lens of both permanence and transience. How does the fluidity of memory, which is deeply subjective, shape the process of art-making? If there might be an aesthetic that expresses the complex relationship between loss, time, and solitude, how would it look like? What visual or conceptual elements would it involve? An Ode to Absence is an exhibition that explores these questions. By considering the notions of “lack” and “longing,” the exhibition delves into how these themes can articulate the nuances of temporal experience and the conceptual weight of absence. Featuring works drawn from private art collections, An Ode to Absence is an exercise of a curatorial methodology that seeks to create connections between seemingly disparate pieces to reveal underlying themes that might otherwise remain obscured. Through this process, the curatorial approach transforms individual pieces into a narrative that invites viewers to contemplate the time as an interplay between presence and absence, and the dimensions of the ephemeral and the enduring. The Dalton team did some amazing work in the Heritage Gallery at the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta. With such beautifully engineered automobiles in the space, it can be a daunting task to design the environmental graphics. Fortunately, our team made very smart choices to enliven the space and capture the essence of the Porsche experience. - The first collaborative decision with the client was to change the storyline from one about the "features" of Porsche automobiles to one about the "feelings" of the Porsche experience. - Next, our team made very simple, but incredibly powerful, updates to how the graphic spaces were used. From breaking up graphic panels that were previously duplicated to extending a graphic across an adjacent wall that was previously left blank. - The final touch was a complete rethinking of the gallery cards which previously featured only technical specifications and short historical notes about each automobile. Quotations from the individual owners who graciously lend their vehicles to the Heritage Gallery are now the prominently featured headlines about each automobile.
