I've been getting a lot of questions about the event we're putting on, so I wanted to answer some of the most common ones: ✨ Is this a job fair? Technically, no. This event is a conversational roundtable featuring young people and professionals alongside employers and leaders. It's a chance to share perspectives about each other and discuss how we can overcome generational obstacles as a community. ✨ This event is FREE! Originally, we considered a fee to cover costs, but I wanted to be fair and absorb the cost as an investment. ✨ This is NOT confrontational. This isn't about hearsay. We'll be using statistics and key indicators observed within our community to facilitate discussion. ✨ Who's participating? We'll have students from high schools and colleges across the Springfield-Branson metro area. This includes international students, Springfield-Branson natives, and those planning to leave or enter the workforce. ✨ The goal? To share perspectives and find common ground.

Senator Ossoff, If we sucked for 3 months It will take us at least that long to recover Once upon a time We lost $10k in one weekend Knowing how we got there was the start Inbound Peak starts in October Seasonal people should start by 10.01 We didn't do our Seasonal Job fair until 09.2x We brought on Seasonal people in DECEMBER But here's where we did something different Seasonals are normally spread evenly Across the 4 shifts You know, minimize the risk But this year, we decided to Atlanta Falcon-it "Let's let all the regular employees choose first And then backfill with all the Seasonals" I worked weekend night shift What do you think happened to my shift? I lost 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string POCs to a more desirable shift And ended up with ALL the Seasonal Hires Worst week, 20 new hires at once first day, was all classroom 12 hour shifts That's what? 240 hours Day 2 was half day classroom Another 120 hours Day 3, they slow down vets Easily lost another 120 hours 480, lets call it 475 hours in the hole (more like 500) Team, we will NOT break even next week That's an UNREALISTIC expectation But what we CAN do Better yet, what we CAN'T do is be the same 475 hours in the hole NEXT week We CAN'T lose more than 425 hours We'll get cussed out as long as we're losing Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was it destroyed in one Did they use actual curse words? No, but corporate cuss outs are worse We lost 425 hours the following weekend Okay, now we need to aim for 375 WE had our game plan and sights set And you guessed it, corporate cuss out Whatever Now lets go for 325 "You guys are underperforming. Sign this." Cool beans. 275 is the goal "You guys are dragging the building down." Whatever Following week 225 "How can you be engaged with paperwork on you?" You know how this ends By Week 10, we had broke even What happened the final 3 weeks was amazing As we faded Like at the end of The Sandlot I'm doing this to know how to do it in the future We had all the goofy shit in the recipe for disaster Like Week 3 trainees training Week 1 trainees The RPDC has been open THREE months So what if you're at 36% on-time. Perfect Change 2 or 3 things.. BOOM! 50% A few more things.. 65% Going from 36% to 90% Is more about NOT beating yourself Which is why I use the Atlanta Falcons example Did the RPDC try to go 100% to capacity Within the first 90 days of opening? It took Walmart over 2 years That's being generous A Million sq ft warehouse is not a government program Tax payers have nothing to do with the KPI You have to run it! For the last 19 years Every jacked up situation I've encountered I sent the action plan from my work email to myself I wrote the action plan these are not company secrets glide path, burndown, backlog oh my Getting Warehouses MORE thruput using the SAME hours. I offer a complimentary 30-minute discussion to walk through what that looks like for you. #strategy #business #creativity #innovation #xpandurangeamotion

Today is the Chicago Urban League 's Premier Job Fair! Help spread the word about this opportunity to connect with 75+ employers from the Chicagoland area including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois. Explore thousands of job openings with great wages and benefits, and get job search tips from the Chicago Urban League, Jobcase, Inc., and more! 🔗 Secure your spot now: bit.ly/culjobfair24 Why? Because employment levels in Chicago and beyond have rebounded since the COVID-19 pandemic, but a new report has found teens and young adults across the city, particularly those of color, are still struggling to find consistent work. Black and Latino youth and young adults in Chicago continue to have higher jobless and out-of-school-and-jobless rates compared to White Chicagoans,” the report states, “highlighting the importance of implementing targeted programs to promote more equitable employment opportunities for youth and young adults.” According to the report, there were tens of thousands of teens and young adults in Chicago between the ages of 16-24 who are both out of school and jobless in 2022 — the year this study examined. Chicago remains worse off than Illinois and the U.S in joblessness for Black and Latino 16- to 19-year-olds and 20-to-24-year-olds, the report found. The highest percentages of joblessness in Chicago, recorded at 92.8%, were found around the South and West side neighborhoods of Pilsen, Bridgeport, McKinley Park, Fuller Park and Back of the Yards. The Far South Side of Chicago in particular had a large cluster of high jobless rates ranging from 86.7% to 92% for 16-to-19-year-olds, the report found. #HCSCcareers #BCBSIL #JobFair #ChicagoJobs #CareerOpportunities #JobSearch #ChicagoUrbanLeague

Employer’s Choice: More than a slogan In the month of October … Approximately 400 employers on campus throughout the month giving feedback on the curriculum for almost 40 technical programs. Twenty-some employers presenting to students during Employer Lunch & Learns. And closing out the month with close to 40 employers for the Commercial Turf and Grounds career fair. That doesn’t even account for employer tours and classroom presentations that I am not even aware of that are happening on campus. Did I mention the annual career expo registration opens the end of this month? 400 employers participated last year and there is a list of over a 100 new employers eager to participate in the 2025 Career Expo on February 11 & 12. It’s not just a slogan. State Technical College of Missouri is the Employers Choice. And you can be a part of this experience … bring your son, your daughter, your nephew, your niece, your grandson, your granddaughter, etc to our Open House on Saturday October 5. Enjoy some State Tech hospitality. https://statetechmo.edu We are ready to roll into October!
