The drill program is progressing quickly with 1,659 m completed in July. Samples have been shipped to the assay lab and we await results. Team Omai has been expanded and we are anticipating arrival of the second drill at month end.

IODP - A SOMETIMES FORGOTTEN SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND AMAZING GEOLOGICAL INSIGHT Plus an image log or two.... It's easy to fall into a rabbit hole when it comes to interesting things, but recently, the IODP has absorbed some of my attention. There are examples of tool choice or interpretation I question, academia/research vs industry opinion more than anything else, but the application of technology/data is great, it's not just for the fun of using all the new, flashy kit. The IODP are solely acquiring and interpreting data to answer a scientific question, something that is seemingly easy to forget. In this great example from the IODP, the acquisition of core is problematic in certain places and so the use of image log data and optical data is vital to the continuation of the study interval. The IODP didn't employ the most up-to-date tech, but did they need it? Quality of interpretation and knowledgeable integration is critical! https://lnkd.in/e7U8Qp-C

In this operative video, I demonstrate a midline supracerebellar craniotomy. Respecting the foramen magnum and its bony borders is paramount since the tumor does not extend inferiorly to the foramen. Another important lesson gleaned from this video is the principle of knowing when to stop, for example, when extra resistance is encountered during drilling.
