Mairead Wood and Matt Lawrence (BA Hons) emphasised the importance of addressing unconscious bias within an objective recruitment process. 🛠 It’s Women In Engineering Day (#INWED24)! Late last week, we hosted a brilliant event at Defra for our teams in Weybridge, discussing the critical role of diversity in the field of #engineering. The session was led by our Gender Balance ERG steering group, and we were also delighted to welcome our special guests — Tristan Holland from the Women's Engineering Society, as well as our recruitment partners at Omni. Together, we explored some critical topics — from the impact of #UnconsciousBias in keeping women out of engineering roles to the importance of expanding access to this career path through #apprenticeships.
