Did you know that executives often see only 4% of the issues within an organization, while the employees doing the work see 100%? This discrepancy can lead to significant blind spots in decision-making and strategy. Why is this important? The people on the ground have a full view of the day-to-day challenges, opportunities, and innovations. Their insights are invaluable for informed decision-making. What can we do about it? 1. Ask and Listen: Regularly engage with your team. Ask for their feedback and listen actively. 2. Involve Them: Involve employees in certain decision-making processes. Their perspectives can lead to more effective and sustainable solutions. 3. Create Channels: Establish clear channels for communication where employees feel safe and encouraged to share their views. By bridging the gap between executive perspectives and employee experiences, we can foster a more inclusive, innovative, and effective organization. #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #DecisionMaking #OrganizationalAwareness #InclusiveLeadership

I have taken a couple of key sections from this report, really demonstrating the positive impact that effective empathetic leaders and the creation of a psychologically safe working environment can have on the bottom line. I know that some of my colleagues in the HR profession will read this and say "of course", but it doesn't hurt to refocus the thinking. "Individuals who feel valued and understood are far more likely to speak up and come forward with their original ideas, unique perspectives and solutions to challenges. Teams begin to communicate and collaborate better, productivity rockets – by 85% according to research by EY – and business goals are achieved more efficiently. Both the organizational brand and the employer brand benefit as good products get to market more quickly and the workforce feel valued, knowing they’ve created real tangible impact. This can reduce employee turnover by 78%, enable the development of strong talent and leadership pipelines, and help businesses build for an even stronger future, without having to regularly waste resources on a revolving door of disengaged employees."
