Happy Tuesday Friends and Collaborators , The Electric Sector Modernization Plans DPU Order has been released, and as you may already know, it's time to seriously consider the implications. As I delve into the order, I can't help but notice that the difficulty in prioritizing people and their well-being in the energy transition lies in the way legislative actions such as the ESMP are structured and the presentation of goals. People are simply seen as consumers, and everything revolves around financial gain. If we genuinely value empathy, responsibility for others, interdependence, oneness, and inclusion, we must fundamentally alter the way legislation is written. While I acknowledge the department's commitment to an equitable transition, I am concerned about the independence of the CESAG. For now, we must persist in seeking a just transition and be intentional in crafting empowering climate legislation. We must broaden our perspective and insist on procedural and recognition justice. It's time to go beyond simple stakeholder engagement – comprehensive involvement that restores justice and distributes wealth to communities affected by electric sector investments is imperative. #AJustTransition
