Uhhhh, if we simply used advanced primary care (DPC, On-site/near-site clinic, VPC) we would not need as many (PE backed) hospitalists staffing the Emergency Rooms. This should not be a difficult issue to resolve. #highperformance #healthcare https://lnkd.in/gkYkPQt8

Pharmacy+Health is introducing the NHS Pharmacy First Service to local communities across England. When we said we’re transforming community pharmacy by supporting the NHS and GPs, we meant every word and started this process over a year ago. Our state-of-the-art hub and spoke dispensing technology has freed up our pharmacists' time, so we can offer patients on-demand clinical services. NHS Pharmacy First has now launched to save up to 10 million GP team appointments a year, shifting consultation and treatment for common conditions to convenient, local pharmacies. By making dispensing more efficient and focusing less on retail, we have turned our pharmacies into a destination of choice for patients seeking consultations and treatment. We will expand our services offering significantly during 2024, beyond the 7 common conditions to include additional NHS and private services such as everyday health conditions, travel, weight loss, and diagnostics. https://lnkd.in/dRMq_4Cz Rethink what your local pharmacy can do, with Pharmacy+Health. #pharmacyfirst #ukhealthcare #communitypharmacy #nhsengland

Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the go-live of Medway NHS Foundation Trust Care Co-ordination Centre and the electronic Bed & Capacity Management (eBCM) system from #TeleTracking UK. In the year since going live, supported by this real-time operational visibility, MFT has significantly improved care access, care delivery, and is now managing patient flow more efficiently and effectively contributing to the delivery of outstanding patient care. Some key achievements: 🚀 50% reduction in patient wait time (from ED to a released bed) from 4 hours to 2 hours. 💼 50 hours of additional nursing time released back into delivering care daily through the use of a dedicated bed cleaning team. 🛏️ Bed availability: The time from when a patient leaves a bed until it is available for the next patient has improved from an average of 150 minutes to just 68 minutes. Congratulations on reaching these 1-year milestones! We look forward to our continued collaboration to keep operational efficiencies high, ensure staff hours are utilized effectively, and increase the quality of patient care. #HealthcareInnovation #OperationalExcellence #NHS #PatientCare #HealthTech

Any provider I see as a patient and/or work with as a professional colleague gets the breakdown from me lol. And not a one of them want a world where there are even fewer pharmacists and community pharmacy services available for all of their patients. Every single one of them has witnessed the decline in value and accessibility of pharmacist services and are truly afraid for when we as pharmacists aren't there to have their back so to speak. If the providers you interact with don't feel this way it's because all they know is present state of the past 6 years or so. They don't know that at a minimum we are as pharmacists supposed to function as a safety net and a collaborative provider, not "just" pill dispensers. It's on ALL of us to enlighten those providers while enlisting them in the build of wellness models which recognize pharmacists under the SSA as billing providers or alternatively start making funeral arrangements for our profession. I have found that 6 out of 10 providers aren't aware of our billing limitations either. A Dr in OT PT Nursing, Psychology etc can all bill under Medicare in addition to PAs and FNPs but pharmacists many at the doctoral level cannot bill Medicare and or many private payors independently for evaluation and management codes. We have a better safety net of CPAs in each state than almost all other mid-level providers. Yet the AMA continues to site safety concerns in blocking legislation which would provide a lifeline to pharmacies that remain to build more wellness models in support of primary care. "Pharmacies are so overwhelmed as it is blah blah" and yes because we are locked into the fee for service hamster wheel dispensing model you've and we've kept ourselves locked in over 60 years now. Please let us out so that we may save ourselves. There is a Senate bill which that hasn't moved that would add Pharmacists to the SSA and start with underserved communities, many of which are now in cities thanks in large part to PBMs. Every provider I see in some capacity learns about Senate Bill 1491 which was reintroduced last year for the second year in a row and has stalled out due to resistance and the pbm reform bills which are a band aid not a solution. https://lnkd.in/gssikvhc It's on all of us to make pharmacists providers under SSA (starting with underserved communities) a reality or start building a collective coffin for our profession. We must successfully engage all health care stake holders in order to do so. Namaste ❤️

Nearly three quarters of patients expect to be able to access a GP appointment within 24 hours of contacting their practice. GPs play a critical role in providing patient care and a trusted source of advice for patients. But with a wide range of health conditions often better managed by a non-GP clinician, and demand for care rising, not every request will require a GP appointment. Deciding whether a GP, nurse, or another clinician is best suited requires effective and accurate triage. Klinik supports triage teams to make quick, precise decisions on the most appropriate care for each patient, based on need, not just demand. This approach helps relieve the burden on reception staff and GPs, while ensuring that patients are offered timely access, to the most appropriate care. Find out more about how patient expectations of primary care changing are changing ⬇️ #primarycare #NHS #triage #healthtech #digitalhealth #Klinik

What percentage of patients would be "very dissapointed" if their direct primary care (dpc) doc were to close their doors? This is an important question to ask for a dpc clinics success. Dpc is very well received in rural communities. Why? Patients would be "very dissapointed" if their dpc doc closed shop. These patients LITERALLY have no other healthcare options. The value proposition of dpc changes in suburban/urban centers. There is more access to healthcare around you. Or at least PERCEIVED access to healthcare. As a dpc doc I have to look at my local patient population and provide a value proposition that would make my patients "very dissapointed" if I closed up shop. If you ignore this, you won't have a viable clinic for long. #directprimarycare #dpc
