Here's a really simple exercise to help you start thinking about innovating your B2B content. 📽 First: think back over the last week - what have you most enjoyed watching, listening to, engaging with? A daily podcast on your commute? A particularly good 'YouTube Essay'? Maybe some insightful or funny reels? (As a betting man, I would place a large wager on the fact it wasn't a 50 page PDF or a text heavy website) 📝 Next: write down the three things that you've most enjoyed and found the most engaging - and note down why you particularly enjoyed them. 👨🎨 Finally: choose one of those three things and think how you could replicate that for your brand. If it was something on Netflix - how could you create a similar documentary style piece? If it was a game - how could you bring your message to life using that medium? Then build the idea out. Write a one pager on it, including logistics on how it could happen, and think seriously about testing it. A simple 30 min task on a Monday to get you thinking differently. Wherever Next for your content? That's up to you.

TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU might not be the best way to plan your content strategy. The buyer journey isn't linear, so it'll be difficult to place people in some stage of an imaginary funnel. I think the B2B content that succeeds in the coming years is more people-forward than ever. Most companies do not have enough of this content. Video blogs and demos, podcasts and panel recordings, first-person writing like expert bylines or long-form reviews, customer stories, day-in-the-life, GRWM … And then get ready for an LLM to chop it up and deliver it conversationally in design modules that include competitor content. In my opinion, B2B companies should be looking at very different ways to earn visibility and attention this year. DM me if you want to do this kind of work together.

The easiest way to kill boredom? It's something I do whenever I feel lifeless. And it's really clever. Here's what you've to do: Get moving. Make tiny progress. How? By taking small steps like: -Attending a course (on email marketing) -Watching a YouTube video (on copywriting) -Reading a book (on storytelling) -Listening to a podcast (on one-person business) -Reading a blog post (on creativity) They're all easy. So they let you taste progress, and that increases dopamine levels, and that makes you happy and active. So you're ready to face challenges! P.S. What do you do when you're bored?

My favorite thing about them is that I get to talk to nerdy tech people and use many words to explain their tech talk to others. Everyone knows the trend in B2B tech is (and has been for a while) thought-leadership content. So...why are brands still struggling to create it when creating content is easier now than ever before? Some roadblocks to content creation: - Thinking you don’t have the “right” experts. - Not knowing what your audience wants to hear about. - Overcomplicating the content creation process and creating barriers to entry. Food for thought - change your mindset:  - You’re more of an expert than you think! Your experiences are unique to you and sharing them publicly (and often) creates a connection with your audience. - Talk to your customers + talk to your sales team - and keep a list of pain points and common questions. 👆This becomes your content topics to address. - This is the BIG one… Be willing to start small.  Small beginnings > no beginnings. (Ps. You don’t need to build a content room!) In Real's word, "start local, but global" She talked extensively about 3 formulas that works for her which I've summed up to: Modelling+Researching+Prayer Clinton talked about authority being thought leadership and the importance of being authentic. In his exact words: “Put your personality deep into your content” Be unique and offer value, that's the secret to standing out. You're curious about what “right” storytelling is? The queen of storytelling, Nelly, did justice to that. Right storytelling: - Must always convert - Must be for a purpose To curate a customer centric post, talk about the pain or the gain. Talk about the transformation. And finally, “goal setting is difficult and implementation is easy!” Lucy told us. Writing out a list of your wishes is not what goal setting is, you have to believe in the goals you're writing.
