To support reaching their goal of 65% by 2025, this week Tesco launches a new range of healthy whole-food veg packed meals under the private label masterbrand of Root & Soul. Another wonderful example of how the food industry is meeting the demand of people across the land for easy, delicious ways to do themselves some good. Healthy. Veg as Hero. Wholefood. Additive eating (by that I mean, not having to feel like a monk!) 💚 And yes, that's what we have all been pioneering at allplants | B Corp™ HQ, since 2017 and is such a thrill (for any start-up) to see their movement scale and go mainstream. In the last 7+ years we have perfected and curated our range to a set of real bangers, with more than 7 million meals served to date and one of Europe's largest plant-based kitchens. If you haven't given us a try and want to see how we stack up, please feel free to use the discount in comments and please let me know what you think. 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝, 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬. And then it helps A LOT. *I have my fact check feelers out there, and will update in comments when I hear back! #everylittlehelps #pioneering #eatmoreplants

In today’s food retail landscape, transparency is not just a buzzword; it’s a fundamental shift in how products are presented to consumers, particularly to the younger generations making up a growing segment of the marketplace. This societal shift towards transparency reflects a deeper understanding of and demand for authenticity in food labeling, a trend that food manufacturers cannot afford to ignore. High-end supermarkets used to be ‘simply a place for farm-fresh products’. But now, consumers want MORE than that – they want an #EXPERIENCE. 📝A recent study (*please find link below) reflected that 66% of consumers would become loyal customers if a brand offers a unique shopping experiences. This implies the beginning of experience-based shopping’s prevalence: aside from scrutinizing the nutritional facts label of organic chicken breast, consumers also expect the staff to demonstrate a 10-minute recipe with it. Therefore, industry expert Sam Xie commented, “Supermarkets need to re-evaluate their value proposition and emphasize service differentiation… The goal is to make shopping feel less transactional.” 🧑🏻🍳 At EDEN’s newly-introduced weekly cooking shows, we collaborate with reputable chefs who use our fresh ingredients to create mouth-watering recipes for our customers. This results in a whopping 88% customer retention rate📈, as unveiled by our 2024 quarterly report. Like what Mr. Smiths – our customer of 10 years, said, ‘EDEN never fails to deliver the sentiment of hearty home-cooked meals, you would always find something new there!” See how EDEN redefines your grocery shopping experience at www.edencorp.com! *source: https://lnkd.in/e-hT3c2N

I have consulted on plant-based food over the last couple of years and have come to some arguably 'no-brainer' conclusions. This display in Tesco with their new Root and Soul range as the centrepiece, addresses three such points below, that aren't always so well executed. 1. For many flexitarian consumers actively reducing their meat consumption, having more varied plant-based offerings is a good thing as people are crying out for inspirational choices. This bold Root and Soul display with multiple new products does that well, to my mind, whether targeting vegans or occasional meat-free Mondays. 2. The healthy eating debate, especially on plant-based versus meat-based comparisons, and when venturing into convenient ready meals can be a complex minefield on ingredients and perception. But the focus isn’t just about health with plant based purchases. Above all else TASTE is often the key driver of repeat purchase. The underused word ‘Deliciousness’ is a simple call to action here. After trial, the truth will then be in the tasting but the expectation is set. 3. The old adage of “everything in moderation” is a good rule of thumb as trends come and go. The side displays here are a case in point. With the historic side of Veg now the meal centrepiece, some freedom is afforded for the new sides to include treats of crisps, and breadstick twists, accompanied by a glass of wine. With some portion control assumed, this is just treating plant-based shoppers as adults in my view and doesn't clash. An extra trade-across could be to offer wine bottle stoppers and those plastic pegs to reseal opened crisp bags, as some adults do still welcome some helpful nudges for self-restraint. OK, I'm talking about myself here... There’s often a way to keep things simple where category content meets comms, and we keep our eyes peeled at JB to see what’s going on across multiple sectors. Please get in touch for anything on category, shopper, or research and let's see if we can help you on content or visualization. There is no fee for an exploratory chat, especially if we can share some inspiration and start putting the world to rights.

Imagine stepping into your local supermarket and discovering... 3D-printed food! That future is now! 🛒 🐟 In Austria, Revo Foods is revolutionising the food industry with their vegan salmon, marking the first 3D-printed food product available on supermarket shelves. This innovation represents a new era in food technology, blending sustainability with culinary art. 🍔 Over in the USA, the university dining scene is in the midst of a new experience thanks to Sodexo. They've introduced SavorEat’s 3D-printed burger robot in cafeterias, offering students not just a meal, but a glimpse into the future of food. These burgers are more than a novelty; they're a taste of what's to come. At Reynolds, while we admire the innovation in the food industry, we remain committed to our ethos of simplicity and purity. We believe in the beauty of food that is straightforward, with clear and simple ingredient lists. Weis Markets, which operates nearly 200 stores, joins a group of major grocery chains offering Picadeli in the American market, including Albertsons Companies, Schnuck Markets, Inc., Sodexo, Compass, and Coborn's, Inc. The new agreement with Weis means that Picadeli’s innovative concept, where customers can assemble a healthy and sustainable meal in minutes from a digitalized #saladbar, will reach even more Americans. “Americans have a consumption pattern that fits our concept. They often eat meals outside the home, and there is a significant interest in #healthy food and a wide acceptance of salad as a meal. By establishing our healthy salad concept, we create efficient and rapid growth, just as we have done in Europe,” says David von Laskowski, PhD, CEO of Picadeli and Greenfood Group. https://lnkd.in/eVdRqfki #businessworld #digitalnews #globalnews #news #onlinenews #retail #internationalnews #businessleaders #newsupdates #newsoftheday #businessbuilding #latestnews #subscribe #follow #businessfocus

💲 💲 Ensuring fair and attractive pricing is crucial in driving demand for plant-based foods, and it seems Europe is leading the way. Just recently: 💲 Burger King in Germany announced a decrease in the pricing of plant-based burgers compared to meat burgers. 💲 Jumbo Supermarket from the Netherlands decided to discontinue promotions and offers on its fresh meat assortment. It's worth noting that one of the first companies to implement an attractive pricing strategy was IKEA, with veggie hot dogs being cheaper than their meat alternatives across their branches worldwide. 🌭 These bold decisions should encourage customers to opt for vegan choices. Can we expect more businesses to follow suit? #vegannews #veganleaders #VLCM #futureoffood
