Family recreation and entertainment center of Kish Island "Runs like a diamond in the elusive mirror of the river" ◼ The sea breeze and the smell of salt and sand are accompanied by the delicate aroma of diamonds. The waves hit the shore and their rhythm reflects the diamond's pulse, as if they were inseparable. It is the stable power of the night and the day, which shines its light on sea and land. This is a treasure. ◼ The Family recreation and entertainment center of Kish Island (FEC) with the diamond concept is a cross-border creative experience in architecture to depict the timeless elegance of this precious gemstone. ◼ When the visitors arrive at the structure, they would be surrounded by a world of sparkling surfaces, sharp angles, and dazzling light that evoke the brilliance and majesty of a diamond. ◼ This complex was designed on a land of 40000 square meters in 2022 in the Ando office, the center for creating cross-border experiences and architecture. Up-to-date materials, lighting design, knowledge of theme park design, and the combination of rides and high-tower gaming systems are some highlights of the project. ◼ Location: Kish Island Project Timing: Completed Art director: Mohsen Saraaji Concept and design team: Mohammad Hassan Daneshvar, Sara Salamat, Jawad Saberi Site and media support: Zahra Mohammadpoor, Faezeh Abadi Art review: Metanat Mohebi #ondoffice #cross_border_experiences #architecturedesign info@ondoffice.com ondoffice.com

Unveiling "Thamizhi House" This project is something very close to our heart, and we're super excited to bring it to you all. The Thamizhi House seamlessly blends traditional Tamil culture with the principles of object-oriented ontology (OOO), presenting a space where every element, from the structure to the decor, is imbued with meaning and interconnectedness. Drawing inspiration from Tamil literature and art, its design prioritizes harmony between humans and objects, treating all entities—be it a pillar, a painting, or a piece of furniture—as subjects with intrinsic value and purpose. The house stands as a living narrative of Tamil heritage, where ancient philosophies and modern aesthetics converge, offering a sanctuary that respects the autonomy of objects while celebrating the rich tapestry of Tamil culture. Through its innovative approach, the Thamizhi House redefines the relationship between space and occupant, encouraging a deeper engagement with the material and cultural dimensions of existence. Stay tuned for more pics and details about this project. I firmly believe in the significant role that art plays in influencing the energy and well-being within our homes, given my passion for Vastu Shastra. Selecting the right pieces can elevate our living spaces, enhancing aesthetic appeal and spiritual harmony. Here's a streamlined guide on the types of artwork to hang and those to avoid, according to Vastu principles: Artworks to Enhance Positive Energy: 1. Inspiring Heroes and Great Personalities: Surrounding yourself with images of influential figures can inspire and uplift everyone in the home. 2. Scenery of Blossomed Trees/Plants: Such images promote growth and vitality, making them perfect for enhancing the positive energy in living areas. 3. Waterfalls in the North-East Corner: Art depicting waterfalls can boost wealth and health, harmonizing with the water element to foster prosperity. Artworks to Avoid for a Harmonious Home: 1. Nude Figures: These can disrupt the serene and sacred atmosphere of a home, according to Vastu. 2. Scenes of Violence or Hunting: Images that depict aggression or conflict can introduce negative energies into your living space. 3. Carnivorous Birds or Animals: Displaying predators like eagles or tigers can impact the tranquility of your environment negatively. Choosing the right images to adorn your walls makes a significant difference in how you experience your home. It’s not just about the aesthetic appeal but ensuring that each piece contributes positively to the ambiance and energy of your space. PROJECT | Grand Casino & Tagoba Theatre The Grand Casino and the Tagoba Theater, both historical landmarks, have been revitalized through a thoughtful rehabilitation process. The architects envisioned a solution that not only restored the buildings to their former glory but also introduced modern functionalities. Central to this vision is the prism of light, a strategic architectural element that bridges the gap between the two structures. The prism of light serves as a dynamic nucleus of communication, seamlessly integrating the different levels and functions of the casino and the theater. The vertical core of the prism, featuring a panoramic elevator, offers a unique visual experience, allowing visitors to appreciate the architectural beauty and historical significance of both buildings as they move between floors. This elevator is more than just a means of transportation; it is a moving observation deck that enhances the connection between the old and the new. The lightweight staircase within the prism of light further complements the vertical integration, providing a visually striking yet functional route between the casino and the theater. Its design emphasizes transparency and openness, reinforcing the concept of fluidity and continuity. As visitors ascend or descend, they are constantly reminded of the seamless connection between these historically significant structures. Moreover, the prism of light is not just a physical connector; it is a symbolic one. It represents the melding of past and present, of tradition and innovation. The inclusion of this intermediate space allows the Grand Casino and the Tagoba Theater to function as a cohesive entity, fostering a sense of unity and enhancing the overall user experience. Town Planner & Urban Designer | Sustainable Development, Public Space Design, Urban Revitalization | Creating Livable Cities
Today I got a notification pop up from Google Maps regarding one of my posted pictures that has gained almost 6K views. I took this picture on 31 Dec 2022 during a site visit at Petaling Street with my lecturer during my studies. At that time, I was still struggling to finish my master studies and had to settle my Master Project 2 (MP2). This picture was randomly taken, and I posted it on Map Google 6 months ago. It took me a moment to realise how beautiful the picture is. It was at Lorong Petaling 2, just nearby from the Petaling Street entrance. Mesmerising view PNB 118 at the back, fascinating zig-zagging rows of red Chinese lanterns, and incredible mural painting onto the wall. As an urban designer, I found that this place is interesting in how spaces between buildings are created. As I passed a few times in front of this place before, the tables and chairs were to be set up. I was amazed at how brilliantly they are taking advantage of and making use of the space as a part of their business. As urban designers, we really need the quality of outdoor spaces like this in our cities. Even these small spaces not only attract people to mingle around but also attract people to the cafe nearby. This is how public space promotes a series of social and economic impacts on the cities. Even though this space is not as popular as Kwai Chai Hong alley, but it has its own attraction. It increases the liveliness and vibrancy of the area. Picture posted here: https://lnkd.in/ggCpJp96 #publicspace #pnb118 #jangehl

Origami in altitude. This project was brought to my attention by a dear friend from Los Angeles, an expert in mountain hiking but always with a keen eye for details. Being in a location fairly close to Milan, I will soon organize an expedition among enthusiasts of this kind to see exactly what it entails. It is a very small but highly functional refuge, offering panoramic views of the Italian Alps. The architecture studio EX designed Pinwheel Shelter, a structure made of prefabricated CLT panels and aluminum cladding in an origami-like shape, situated at 2,850 meters above sea level near the upper Susa valley. The aim was to create a fully reversible and minimally invasive structure, while also respecting the surrounding environment, conceptually lightweight and capable of being assembled in a few days and easily dismantled. It's a project that combines art, landscape, and technology through architecture. 🙌 What’s your take? # 290 ARCHITECTURE, Italy 👉 More contents on our website, the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write us privately. Injecting cultural inspirations for mindful living into design vocabularies while maintaining a global language requires striking a delicate balance between honouring diverse cultural traditions and aesthetics and ensuring that the designs resonate with a broad audience. This approach acknowledges the richness and diversity of global cultures while promoting inclusivity and unity. One way to achieve this balance is by drawing inspiration from traditional craftsmanship, materials, and motifs from different cultures and integrating them into contemporary design concepts. For example, incorporating elements of Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, such as imperfection and impermanence, into minimalist interiors can create spaces that promote mindfulness and appreciation for the beauty of simplicity. Similarly, embracing sustainable practices rooted in indigenous knowledge and practices can infuse design with a sense of environmental stewardship and respect for nature. Using locally sourced materials, traditional building techniques, and vernacular architecture can reduce the carbon footprint of design projects and celebrate the region's cultural heritage. At the same time, it's essential to ensure that these cultural inspirations are presented in a respectful, authentic, and meaningful way. Instead of appropriating cultural symbols or motifs for purely aesthetic purposes, designers should engage with local communities, collaborate with artisans and craftspeople, and incorporate artistic elements that honour their significance and context. By blending cultural inspirations with a global design language, designers can create spaces that resonate with people from diverse backgrounds, foster a sense of connection and belonging, and promote mindfulness, sustainability, and well-being on a global scale. Palau D'Esports Catalunya (2017 | Spain) The Palau d'Esports Catalunya is located in Tarragona and was designed to host part of the sporting activities for the 2018 Mediterranean Games. Its oval shape is one of its main features. It has a ground floor used for sports activities and also houses public access areas, services, restaurants, and a press room, as well as a semi-underground floor that contains locker rooms, administrative spaces, press rooms, reception and athlete control areas, storage rooms, and other facilities. This semi-underground area enhances thermal inertia and energy efficiency, allowing for air renewal and the entry of natural light. The venue has a normal capacity of 5,000 spectators, which can be increased to 7,000 when needed. The facade features terracotta louvers that are actually made of two customized multi-concave pieces in three natural colors that evoke the ancient Roman Tarraco. This facade not only conveys dynamism and movement, creating a sense of fluidity due to the sun rotation, but also allows light to enter while preventing direct impact on the playing field. CAOBA STORIES I: THE NAKAGIN CAPSULE TOWER. Located in Tokyo, Japan, this is a unique architectural landmark that represents the Metabolism movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa, the Nakagin Capsule Tower was completed in 1972. The tower consists of two interconnected concrete towers, each 11 stories tall, with a total of 140 prefabricated capsules attached to them. These capsules were intended to serve as compact living or office spaces, designed to be easily interchangeable and replaceable. The concept behind the tower was to create a flexible and adaptable structure that could accommodate the changing needs of its inhabitants over time. The Nakagin Capsule Tower is notable for its futuristic and innovative design, as well as its expression of the Metabolism architectural movement, which emphasized ideas of organic growth, modularity, and technological innovation. However, despite its architectural significance, the Nakagin Capsule Tower has faced challenges over the years, including maintenance issues and debates over its preservation. Unfortunately, its future remains uncertain. #caobahotels #caoba #hotels #unusual #rare #differential #travel #design #hospitality #architecture #metabolism #movement #art
