The current sentiment seems to be that AI will change everything. We just don’t understand yet in what ways and how fast. There is certainly a sense of change, disruption and revolution based on our personal experiences and interactions with generative AI. Institutions and firms struggle to keep up. But as we discuss its impact on work, education, personal growth, and society, it’s clear that the technology’s infrastructure keeps advancing at an unparalleled pace.
This progress is not just technical—it’s set to unleash a wave of innovations, reshaping applications and amplifying the transformative power of AI in ways we are just beginning to understand.
A key insight into this evolving landscape was recently shared in a keynote by NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang. Even if terms like “teraflops” sound alien to most of us, Huang’s message resonates: the computing power fueling AI’s ability to learn and create is improving at a unprecedented rate.
Reflecting on my own journey, it’s astonishing to see how NVIDIA, once a cornerstone of my early gaming adventures, has morphed into a critical infrastructure pillar for generative AI. This evolution speaks volumes about where we’re headed.
For all of us who have become AI-curious, Huang’s keynote is a must-watch. It’s a glimpse into a future where the boundaries of what’s possible are constantly expanding. And it’s a stark reminder to address the accelerating digital divides and new fault lines between countries and within societies trying to keep up.
