Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models.
Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. Six years of relationship still doing strong! So we must be doing something right:)
Cheers to healthy ageing!

"Making bold decisions is usually scary. In business, you have to make tough decisions, and stick your neck out. If it’s not feeling like this, then you're probably not challenging yourself or aiming high enough." - Belinda Everingham
To mark our 10th anniversary last month, our founder and CEO, Belinda, sat down to reflect on the journey and share 10 of the biggest lessons she's learnt along the way.

19 years is a long time for a small business to survive, much less thrive, especially in tech. These elements have seen me through and kept me passionate about, and relevant in, this space:
💡 Curiosity: An almost endless curiosity about business challenges & how technology might play a role in the solutions
🥨 Flexibility: More than just adapting to change, our team thrives on change and get bored when things are static
🤝 Integrity: We're not bound to external sales goals or growth targets, and our clients know we care about their success more than we care about an extra dollar
🌐 Global impact: We've touched hundreds of millions of lives with our education, financial and health solutions, leaving things better than we found them
Let's see what we accomplish in this next year!

🎉 Celebrating a Milestone! 🎉
We are thrilled to celebrate Peter Hanzel‘s 20th anniversary with in our company! Over the past two decades, his dedication, expertise, and commitment have been crutial in our success.
Thank you, Peter, for your remarkable contributions and unwavering loyalty. We are sure we have a lot of achievements and growth still together in front of us!
Curious to know why Peter stayed with us for 20 years? Here is his answer😊
I can summarize it in 3 reasons - ordered by priority - 1. the team, 2. non-monotonous work, 3. option to choose my own path.
The team makes you feel at work like on a friend event. Of course there are ups and downs, but even in downs team was there to help to get out of the ... it. [😉] The work was always interesting, sometimes more challenging, sometimes more annoying and of course sometimes a little monotonous as at any other work. What also helped a lot that most of my team leads have aIways acted as one of us. I started as a developer, changed to a consultant, then become a consulting manager to end up on a position of a product manager mainly of SNP DTS and CB Shell Creator. ...a campfire/beer stories could be told [🙂]

2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline
Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting.
These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey:
11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing
It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit.
Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now.
02.2016 Product Designer
After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success.
Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it.
01.2017 Brand Manager
My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further.
Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself.
01.2019 Senior Brand Manager
I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas.
Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness.
03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy
My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy
Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time)
05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership
Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts
Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience.
07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing
After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step.
Learning (all of the above)
- My team lead saw my strength & potential
- I spoke up for myself & addressed my need
- I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role
- I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness
If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video
Last week, we celebrated her 8-year Anyline anniversary. And like our company, her role and contributions to our goals have continued to evolve. This is what our own Sophie Kreuzer gets up to in a day, featured in this week's "My Job in 60 Seconds".
Enjoy and join us in celebrating 8 amazing years!
As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, it's a perfect opportunity to look back on the remarkable transformations that have taken place since the establishment of Cunningham-Limp in 1984.
Over the past four decades, our lives have been shaped by technological advancements and changes in social norms, among other things, in ways that we could hardly have imagined. Let's take a journey through time and explore the top 10 ways in which life has changed since 1984. #40Years#BuildingBetterCommunitieshttps://lnkd.in/gbZBB-Mi
It's always a party at Door No. 3! Hat tip for celebrating 30 years in business. I'm grateful to be part of writing this current chapter.
From a new business perspective, it's no small feat to grow an agency. For 30 years, no less. Striking the right balance of growth is a delicate dance.
Providing excellent care for your existing clients while running ahead to cultivate new clients. Building a sticky culture where top talent wants to stay while creating demand to grow the bench. Marketing for others, while also marketing for yourself. Staying heads down in the work while staying up on constantly evolving trends. You get it.
Holding all of these tensions is the daily work of growth. It's the daily inputs, those little disciplines that compound over time. Keep at it today!
