One To One Architecture & Design’s Post

Let’s continue exploring fascinating topics in architecture with our Chief Architect, Pavel Gladkevich. Architecture in the context of the city is always a challenge. It intertwines history, landscapes, cultural characteristics, and the existing urban fabric. Every project begins with thorough analysis: studying historical and foundational plans, referencing the work of predecessors, and adhering to established norms and regulations. After all, architecture is created for decades. Working within a historic environment is particularly demanding, as the existing surroundings often dictate the dimensions, style, and form of a new building. This requires precision and balance. An architect often becomes a mediator between the city, its community, and the client, who is typically focused solely on financial interests. Yet, it is the architect who sets the tone for harmony. Each project is an opportunity to create a cozy, functional space that seamlessly integrates into the urban environment. Even the boldest designs, when carefully planned, can coexist beautifully with medieval structures. Modern architecture should not only be aesthetically appealing but also sustainable — both in terms of materials and by addressing the needs of residents, infrastructure, population density, and transport accessibility. The ultimate goal is comfort and coziness for people. Great architecture inspires, uplifts the spirit, and becomes a catalyst for urban growth. Always remember: we build for people.
