Congratulations to the Texas Rangers for their World Series win!  We know this is a big moment for our Rangers fans and we are here with a network in Dallas Rangers fans can rely on.  As hundreds of thousands of fans flood the streets of Arlington tomorrow to celebrate the team’s first World series win in its franchise’s history, the Verizon network is ready to handle the festivities.  Whether live streaming, uploading photos of the celebrations, or replaying moments from the winning inning, Verizon’s 5G network has been enhanced throughout the streets of Dallas so fans can make the most of the moment. Verizon engineers have been hard at work deploying small cells throughout Dallas and along the parade route. (Small cells are miniature cell sites that are used in high population areas affixed to poles or buildings to add capacity and coverage to the network.)  The cell sites in Dallas and the surrounding area use mmWave spectrum, Verizon’s premium spectrum with the highest possible bandwidth to meet customers data needs.  Customers with 5G capable devices will have access to the phenomenal speeds and capacity of the 5G network in the area. And as more traffic moves from 4G to 5G, customers using Verizon’s legacy 4G network will have a better experience as well. To supplement this already extremely robust coverage, Verizon engineers are working into the evening to deploy a mobile cell site along the parade route. A mobile cell site (called a Cell on Wheels – or COW) can process similar levels of data as a full-size macro cell, but is portable and designed for scenarios exactly like this one.  Event planners are expecting nearly three quarters of a million people to come out and celebrate the Rangers’ victory, so the temporary, portable cell tower will help supplement the capacity of the permanent network throughout Dallas. So go ahead, Dallas, celebrate big! You’ve earned it.  Rangers fans can count on Verizon.

Paul and Kevin dive deep into the rapid evolution of stadium technology, exploring how cutting-edge solutions are redefining the fan experience. They discuss the big jump in cashier-less concessions and the different approaches they see stadiums taking in an effort to speed up and improve the overall concessions experience. Kevin highlighted that there will always be a push for technologies that can speed up and elevate the fan experience and noted that he believes we are just at the beginning for this technology and is excited to see how venues employ it in the future. They also noted how all of these new technologies can decrease operating costs, increase revenue, and improve the fan experience.
