𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫!👍 When it comes to medicine, this couldn’t be more accurate. Everyone's body comes with its own unique "enzyme equipment," meaning that how we process medications can differ from person to person. Personalized medicine, guided by sequencing our genomes, is paving the way for more precise and effective healthcare. Imagine knowing the exact right drug and dose for you, based on your DNA. 🧪🧬 I recently read a story about a lady who had been prescribed warfarin, a common blood thinner, to prevent blood clots. However, even though she followed the instructions and took the right amount of the medication, she still had bleeding episodes that her doctors couldn't explain. It wasn't until they did some genetic testing that they found out what was going on. The test showed that she had a variant in the CYP2C9 gene, which meant her body metabolized warfarin more slowly than usual. With this information, her healthcare team was able to adjust her warfarin dosage to match her genetic makeup. This change not only stabilized her treatment but also dramatically reduced the risk of dangerous side effects.💊 No more guessing, just results. This is the promise of precision medicine and the future of healthcare. 👨⚕️ If you're interested in how 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 can revolutionize healthcare and improve patient outcomes, let's talk! 💊💊Excited to share the poster I worked on back in November 2021 titled "Pharmacogenomics for Precise Medicine." This project focused on the study of how our genes influence the way we respond to drugs, aiming to personalize medical treatments for better outcomes.💊💊 Through this experience, I learned a great deal about the potential of pharmacogenomics to revolutionize healthcare by tailoring medication to individual genetic profiles. It's exciting to be part of such innovative research! #Pharmacogenomics #PrecisionMedicine #Research #HealthcareInnovation

Insights into Pharmacogenomics Knowledgebase The Pharmacogenomics Knowledgebase (PharmGKB) is a resource that gathers, organizes, and distributes data regarding how genetic diversity in humans affects pharmacological responses. It offers therapeutically significant data, such as genotype-phenotype correlations and gene-drug linkages that may be useful, annotated medication labels, and dosing advice. Curators use well-defined criteria based on thorough literature reviews to assign degrees of evidence to variant-drug relationships. PharmGKB is a valuable resource for high-quality information that supports efforts aimed at implementing customized medicine.
