Happy Wednesday!!😀 IT'S NATIONAL COFFEE☕ WITH A COP👮♂️ DAY! Author | C. Knighten The very first Coffee with a Cop Day was held on October 7, 2016. However, the idea was first proposed in 2011 by the Hawthorne Police Department in California, as a way to build better relationships with their community. The first event was a casual gathering where police and community members could build relationships and discuss community issues over coffee ad their local McDonalds. During the event, Officers hear from the community about their security challenges and needs. The community liaises with their security officers, not just as public officers but also as allies in protecting and caring for the people of their town. If crime is to be abated, both the community and police officers must work together. Today, we celebrate Coffee with a Cop in all 50 states and it has become one of the most successful community-oriented policing programs in the United States. Breaking through the barriers of communication between officers and citizens is one of the major focuses for every community. Surprisingly, this celebration has expanded outside our borders to include: Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa and Latin America! GREAT WAYS TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL COFFEE WITH A COP DAY! ☕Missed going to White Bison Coffee this morning? Take coffee and biscuits to your local station! ☕Show your Gratitude! Bake a cake or pick one up...either way, you can drop it off at your local station. ☕Send a 'thank-you' note! Gratitude is always a great way to let others know you care and appreciate them! Sadly, and just like in all professions....there are great cops and some who aren't so great. However, it is very important that we realize the great ones, far outweigh those who are not so great.....so supportive of your local police departments. You never know when you will need them next! #signsbytomorrow #signs #outdoor #indoor #wayfinding #banners #featherflags #sidewalksigns #yardsigns #realtors #schools #sports #athletes #businessowners #walldecals #lettering #huntsville #madison #hamptoncove #meridianville

#Working with #youth is very #exciting and certainly never a dull moment. While for most completing school it's imperative to have a job as most homes need the additional #income. Once the youth find #jobopportunities more than often they get into a comfort zone and find it tough to #furthereducate themselves. This is a cycle I am all to familiar with myself. I enjoy our 121 sessions to sit and gain their insight as to why they working, what is the #shorttermplan, #longtermplan and my favourite when we establish a #personaldevelopmentplan specific for the #individual. One youth really really wants to be a firefighter. His #maingoal is to work to #help the #family for next 18months and in this time get ready to sign up for Firefighter. The group chuckled as we in a call center right. Told the team to hang on we open to hear from each one. He was shy and i assured him a session later to discuss more. Later on he opened up, his heart was made up 4yrs ago when a shack in his area was alight. He saved an elderly man and his dog, the firefighters gave him a special thanks as the #firetruck couldnt reach in time. He never forgot that feeling of #fulfillment and kept dreaming about being a firefighter. He doesnt know any firefighters and wouldnt know where to begin to get more #information. He recently got access to a smart device and needed support to navigate. We spent time searching and found the #Firefighteropenday and the Volunteer Wildfire Services, they hosting a fundraiser this Sunday https://lnkd.in/erxhMkpF He was ecstatic and gave me #biggesthug ever. He was super chuffed that I acknowledged his #dream #preciousmoment 100% #commitment #motivation to #KPIs in the timeframes and with excellent customer care. His going to #rescue those customers, put out all the #escalations and take #bonus home every month #livehisbestlife Taking the time to understand their why, then work out when they plan, to do what they truelly want to do and how, makes a high impact. #BPOIndustry has been a lifeline for most and whilst each one is #happy to be #employed let's never forget the #dreams and #aspirations. #leaders #engage #connect #knowtheirwhy #listentounderstand #settingexpectations #coaching #121matters #lovewhatwedo #aspiretoinspire #howtotrainafirefighter It's #International #FirefighterDay 04 May 2024. Let's honour these heroes and celebrate the lifelines they have provided. Let's raise awareness to those aspiring to become #firefighters of opportunities such as #whatsonincapetown this Saturday at #athlonestadium #firefighteropenday meet and greet these heroes and ask all the questions you have to understand what you need to do to join. https://lnkd.in/eBdDKYBu https://lnkd.in/eYuTKuWt

They’re fun, they’re festive, and they’re hot! Sparklers are a fun and easy way to celebrate on holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. While these small fireworks are easy to light and fun to wave around, it’s important to use them safely. According to the CPSC, sparklers can burn as hot as 2000 degrees Fahrenheit and can easily cause burns when not handled correctly.
