Does the size and scale of your insurance broker matter? You bet it does. Marsh is the world’s largest insurance broker and as such, commands access to resources, intellectual capital, market leverage and capabilities that are simply unmatched by any other firm. One of the most common concerns I hear from prospective clients is that they are too small to command attention (i.e., would be perceived as a “small fish in a big pond”). This could not be further from the truth. Our private equity and M&A services team has the infrastructure and capabilities to provide service and value to the entire spectrum of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. For those sponsors with a portfolio program in place, they receive the added benefit of a dedicated Portfolio Manager. Why is insurance purchased? Ultimately, to provide protection in the event of a loss… to be “made whole” (or as close to whole as reasonably possible).
