Digital transformation is an overused word.
It has become a buzzword that often feels like an expensive, complex process.
Consultants, strategies, hefty budgets — it’s a huge production with a big bang at the end.
But, businesses can take a more agile approach to addressing their transformation.
So, I thought it would be helpful to share a simple “roadmap” for businesses in this position, to help them increase their revenue or introduce new products to the market.
Step one: understanding.
Answering the “why” of implementing new technology is absolutely crucial. This could be to improve revenue, reach certain markets, or explore e-commerce options, for example.
Step two: educating.
Educate yourself, your staff, and even your customers on what the utilization of technology will do for you. If you’re introducing new technologies or software, then organizing training will be crucial.
Step three: careful planning.
Such an undertaking must be meticulously planned. Understand your capabilities, budgets, inventories, and timelines to ensure a smooth transition.
Step four: transitioning.
Implement your plans as swiftly and decisively as possible. You don’t want your business or your clients to be stuck in limbo while you hesitate about the color scheme of your website.
I won’t pretend that it’s going to be easy –
But, introducing new digital products can unlock new revenue streams and new collaborations and serve as a source of inspiration and innovation.
