Monday morning musings - I don't like the term "went back to work" when talking about a mother returning to the paid job force. We never stopped working! In fact, the level of applicable "work experience" increases significantly when you're in the role of home operations management or primary care giver. I have never met a workforce more capable of whipping together a last minute class party (event planning), whilst simultaneously calculating logistical olympics in order to get 3 kids to 3 practices in 3 locations at the same time (logistics), and on the same day schedule a summer's worth of doctor appointments and camps (Administration), and cheerlead your teen out of their omnipresent sulky outlook on life (Human Resources). You want a KPI report by tomorrow? No problem! Need to pull together a conference call with 9 different time zones? In my sleep! Design a way to maximize client onboarding and automate return? Easy!

Why did I choose to be a Virtual Assistant? My answer is FFO 😃 not For Food Only please, It's simply Flexibility, freedom, and opportunity. As a VA, you're not tied to a 9-5 schedule or office space. You get to work with diverse clients across industries, gaining new skills with each project. It’s not just about admin tasks anymore—VAs manage social media, marketing, and customer service, too. I've pondered ways to streamline my admin tasks to avoid the notorious summer lull. However, in recruitment, there's no one-size-fits-all solution.
