💡 Communication is always a two-way thing 🤔
Today, I’m going to talk about the limitations of conveying things through words. For those who already run their own businesses or are sales professionals, this might seem obvious, but I thought I’d write it down as a personal reminder.
Since becoming a freelancer, I’ve been proposing to company presidents things like, "If you handle it this way, you can prevent harassment issues," or "If you organize recruitment like this, it will go more smoothly." But I started feeling like my message wasn’t really getting through.
In an effort to make sure it did, I’ve been working hard to figure out how to present the message more effectively.
Is my message reaching the people who are actually struggling?
Is this flyer unclear about what I want to convey?
Am I talking to people who claim to be struggling but, in reality, aren’t?
I realized that maybe these weren’t the real issues.
As a freelancer, I’m no longer just focused on HR, which was my area of expertise, but I’m also required to think from the perspective of sales, accounting, and other aspects, like a small business owner. However, the fact that my accounting tasks weren’t organized was gradually becoming a burden. Even though I had studied tons of videos on how to minimize accounting tasks, I hadn’t really put them into practice!
That’s when it hit me: "Oh, this is it. If you haven’t personally experienced the problem, it’s hard to take preventive action."
From now on, rather than just delivering my message, I aim to become someone people think of when they’re in trouble and go, “I can ask that person for advice.”
