Great opportunity to #intern with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) #communications team at a crucial time for public service media in #europe. Public service media (PSM) is broadcasting made, financed and controlled by the public, for the public. The EBU represents PSMs (including RTE) in 56 countries. Collectively they reach over 1 billion people, broadcasting in more than 160 languages. Is PSM perfect? Nope ... but it's the best model we have, and when it's well-funded (and well run) it correlates with higher degrees of press freedom, lower levels of extremism and better control of corruption. It's worth protecting, particularly right now when AI technology (in the wrong hands) is fanning the flames of disinformation. I worked in 3 Internships at the same time last Summer! 😬 Let's talk about it! 🗣 Well first, I DON'T recommend doing 3 Internships at the same time! 😅 I worked as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer, and Marketing/Communications Intern throughout my Summer last year from the middle of June to August, and then I continued with one of them because the other two were initially ending in August! All of them were REMOTE! 💻 + The assignments were spread out enough that I had the time to work on other ones! A HUGE plus to this crazy plan I had right? 😆 First, I communicated with my Supervisors what I had going on. Second, I got a feeling of the workload that each internship was giving me and treated them as if I was taking 3 Summer classes in College.. I still wouldn't recommend taking that many classes in the Summertime! But you have to do what you need to do! Thirdly, I organized my work/assignments like CRAZY! I used: 🗓 A Calendar for tracking important deadline dates 📓 Different Color sticky notes for assignments I needed to complete each day 📱 My phone's alarm clock to let me know when I needed to start an assignment 💻 Google Docs for checking off the everyday list of assignments and questions I had asked or needed to ask! This was only possible because I communicated, asked questions, managed my time, and worked hard to give my full effort to my assignments! This Summer ONE is enough! 😂
