🛜 5G NSA vs 5G SA—these two things are part of the same journey towards full 5G deployments (link in the comment for more info). While 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) networks provide faster speeds, they still rely on a 4G core network. The true potential of 5G lies in its Standalone (SA) architecture. 5G SA, with its dedicated 5G core network, unlocks transformative capabilities like ultra-low latency and network slicing. ✅ Today, many 5G deployments are NSA. But as 5G evolves, 5G SA will become the dominant standard. 🎯 5G RedCap-Reduced Capability (NR-Lite) with a promise to revolutionize the IoT connectivity landscape was introduced in 3GPP Rel-17 with the aim to accelerate the adoption of 5G SA. 👉 This is a game changer, which would not only serve to bridge the gap between existing low-data-rate 4G Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and advanced 5G networks but also for massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC) and enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) within the 5G ecosystem. 👉 Major telco giants are strategically investing in RedCap, as it promises higher data rates than existing LTE networks with simpler hardware designs and at a lower cost. 👉 RedCap is gaining traction with its ability to reduce power consumption compared to traditional 5G New Radio (NR) interfaces and existing 4G IoT devices which translates to extended battery life, alongside lower system complexity and reduction in cost, achieved through the optimization of carrier bandwidth and implementation of efficient modulation schemes. Get ready for a new era of connectivity with RedCap! #telecom #wireless #triviaTime

🌐Ubiik's private LTE base stations can work seamlessly with other radios on your infrastructure. How? These eNodeBs fully comply with the 3GPP standard, enabling connections to an external core if preferred. This flexibility allows for various integration possibilities. 🤝 Already using equipment from other vendors? No problem—Ubiik has conducted interoperability tests with major players like Nokia, Ericsson, and Druid. This confirms that Ubiik’s eNodeBs can effectively extend your current setup. For example, if you have macro sites connected to a Nokia core network, adding Ubiik's base stations is straightforward—thanks to their smaller size and easy deployment. ⚡️ With Ubiik's LTE base stations and routers, utilities can benefit from flexible, cost-effective, and reliable connectivity solutions tailored to their needs. #goRAN #freeRAN #PyxisLTE #PyxisLTErouter #LTErouter #LTE #basestation #LTEM #Ubiik #IoT

Where are operators on the journey to deploying 5G RedCap? LTE-M is widely regarded as the precursor to 5G RedCap, and NB-IoT shows what's to come. But to deploy 5G RedCap, operators must switch to a 5G core network and have a 5G standalone network. As of the end of April 2024, GSA had identified 126 operators in 58 countries, investing in 5G standalone. In our 5G RedCap report, we look at: * What Is 5G RedCap? * Uses for 5G RedCap * LTE-M and NB-IoT Status and Comparison * 5G Standalone and 5G RedCap Network Status * 5G RedCap Device and Chipset Ecosystem Download the full report here: https://bit.ly/4dI5KbB #5G #5Gnetworks #5Gredcap #IoT #5Gstandalone
