✅ 💯 The hiring team should understand that when we plan our careers, we never put all the eggs in one basket and like to keep our options open instead of focusing only on one thing. Sure, we might have some companies we prefer, but we're careful about how we spend our time and where we put our skills. It's like spreading our bets to make sure that we're making the best choices for our future.

Recruiter: I'm sorry, but the candidate accepted another offer ❗️ Manager: But you said we were their first choice.📈 Recruiter: You were.🔑 Manager: Then how did we lose them❓ Recruiter: While you put them through a 6-week interview process, another company offered them a position in a week.⛔️⛔️⛔️ MOVE FAST when hiring.✅✅ Don't take too long or they'll go somewhere else.🏁🏁 Eliane Souaiby 💯

Lovely little Father’s Day gift received this week, a quality set of pens to use during our hiring processes, take a walk with me down the recruitment fairway on how I’m going to put them to good use 😉 Driver: kicking off the introduction of Clario and initial interviews with power and precision, exactly how I start most rounds off the tee……….🚀 Iron: to help us navigate through the detailed discussions, interview preparations, tricky questions, counteroffers (bunkers), technical tests (water hazards) and negotiations 🎯 Putter: closing job offers with finesse and ensuring the candidates transition is as smooth as a well-sunk putt (which after 20 years still range from eagles to triple bogeys) ⛳️ Here’s to a life dedicated to the game, and let’s face it recruiting (like golf) can be a cruel mistress. I hope my recruitment contacts have had a good round this week, plenty of birdies and maybe even some hole-in-ones. For those of you who find yourself in the rough this Friday, chalk it off - grab a beer in the clubhouse and smile, as you’ll be back playing another round next week and who knows the types of shots you’ll pull off 🏌️♂️ #recruiterlife #recruitmentjourney #candidateexperience #funfriday #golf

🧐 Not All Recruiters Are the Same! 🧐 Let’s be honest—recruiters often get a bad rep, and sometimes it’s well-earned. But it’s important to remember that not all recruiters fit the same mold. And if I'm honest, I'm a recruiter that has been ghosted and burned by recruiters...so I know the feeling! 😖 💡 A bad recruiter may see candidates as numbers, focusing on the quick match without building a real connection. But a great recruiter? We’re in it for the long game. We don’t just fill roles—we find talent. We build relationships. We connect the dots between amazing people and the careers they deserve. 🎯 As a recruiter for Arvest Bank, I personally handle roles in Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma only. I don’t know all the positions our company has to offer—just the ones I’m actively working on. And while I wish I could answer everyone who reaches out, sometimes it’s just not possible. I do my best to respond when I can, but right now, I'm finding talent and deep in traveling to career fairs (it's that time of year), and my calendar is jam-packed! ⏰ 👏 To all the dedicated recruiters out there, let’s keep raising the bar! 🌱 It’s about building a better, stronger talent pipeline—one that’s built on trust and relationships. And to the candidates who’ve had a less-than-stellar experience in the past, know that some of us are here for the long haul. We’re rooting for your success! 💪

I can still tie a tie. Yesterday, I put on a suit and some freshly polished dress shoes, and shot out the door with a stack of resumes in hand. An hour's drive north of me was a Hiring Our Heroes job fair event on JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord). This was day two of a two-day event focused on helping active duty service members, their families, and veterans find suitable employment. Today's portion was the main event. They filled an entire aircraft hangar with representatives from dozens organizations looking to fill jobs. Any remaining space was filled with job seekers. It was packed! For someone who is a bit introverted, stepping into that hangar was like standing at the base of a mountain and looking at the summit 14,000+ feet up and suddenly wondering did I prepare well enough? Am I wearing the right shoes? Oh no. Did I even put shoes on?? It's fine. Everything's fine. Taking a deep breath I stepped into the maelstrom, snaking my way through tables and circling the room at least once before engaging with the first recruiter. Or maybe they engaged me? Anyways, that was enough to break the ice and get me a little more comfortable. Well, I ended up chatting with folks across government agencies at the state, local, and federal levels, and talked with company recruiters from from tons of different industries - energy, finance, trades, tech, law enforcement, education, security, and so much more. I even ran ran into some veteran friends like Douglas White, SHRM-CP, PHR (U.S. Bank) and Jared Wood - LSSBB, SPHR (Washington Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG)) who are doing superb things for their organizations and the veteran community. After three hours of walking and talking, I was exhausted. My feet hurt. My back hurt. Even my throat hurt. Pretty happy with the way it all turned out though. Made some great contacts and got some great leads. Now after doing more in-person socializing in the past 48 hours than I have in the past 48 months (kidding mostly), I'm now spending the day – seemingly writing this really long post (sorry and thanks if you got this far!) – and sending out follow-up emails to recruiters. #Veteran #HiringOurHeroes #operations #opentowork #jobfair #humanresources #communications

Why was Friday a smash hit? 🌟 It all began on Tuesday! There I was, ready to go when a client lobbed not one, not two, but THREE roles into my court. Game on! 🎾 Building a tailored talent pool? Check! Conducting internal competency interviews while sipping on too much coffee? Double check! By the time Friday came around, the interviews were taking place! Now, here's the kicker: the client didn't just like our candidates. No, that would be too simple. They adored them! All three received a job offer and accepted straight away! And just when I thought I could rest for the day, they threw a curveball - they want another! It's like finding an extra biscuit at the bottom of the packet when you thought you were out. 🍪 Who am I to deny them the full cookie jar of talent? #CareerWins #RecruitmentGoals #HiringSuccess #recruitment #hiring #talent #friday #career

Another (more realistic story).. She applied for 75 jobs across various job boards and LinkedIn. She tailored her resume every time as also the cover letter. She made several profiles on workday all exclusive to the companies she applied to. Most companies sent her a beautifully crafted templated application acknowledgement automatic response thanking her for taking the time and interest to apply. She interviewed with 3 such companies with multiple rounds and all went really well. She received a verbal, "we'll get back to you soon" and made her feel that she finally cracked it! She sent a follow up email to check in with the recruiter/ hiring manager to no avail. She is today depressed and suffering mental health issues she doesn't even know of. She has developed an imposter syndrome leaving her believe that she is good for nothing. This is what a hiring process actually looks like with most companies today big ones included. #jobseekers #jobinterviews #humanresources

She interviewed at 2.00 pm She received an offer for 190k at 2.40 pm It was more than she'd initially asked for. 20k more! The company called her recruiter straight after her interview. They didn't waste any time and wanted her onboard. No messing around and no playing games. The recruiter called her right away. She accepted the offer. When you know there is a good fit There is absolutely no need to waste time. This is what a good hiring process actually looks like. #jobseekers #jobinterviews #humanresources #Copied
