The Odyssey of Courage and Discovery As I look back on the journey leading up to my selection for the IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) 2024 program, organized by the Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia), I am struck by a profound sense of gratitude and pride. This experience has been a remarkable odyssey, filled with moments of courage, discovery, and transformation. Competing with countless talented Indonesian students was daunting, yet it was a challenge I eagerly embraced. Through this journey, I've unearthed invaluable insights: 1. The Courage to Be Authentic: The application process required me to delve deep into my personal narrative, not just showcasing my achievements but also sharing the raw and honest moments that have shaped me. Writing my personal statement was an act of bravery, as it meant embracing my vulnerabilities and owning my story, complete with its imperfections and triumphs. 2. The Value of Community: Engaging with a supportive community of fellow applicants, mentors, and alumni was a source of strength and inspiration. This collective network provided encouragement, shared experiences, and invaluable advice. I learned that being part of a community fosters a sense of belonging and can be a powerful catalyst for personal and professional growth. 3. The Assurance of Self-Trust: Throughout the selection process, moments of doubt were inevitable. However, I realized that trusting myself was essential. This assurance gave me the resilience to navigate obstacles and remain dedicated to my goals. By embracing my unique strengths and trusting my instincts, I found the courage to take on challenges that once felt insurmountable. This self-trust wasn't just about confidence; it was about recognizing my inherent worth and potential. It became a steady anchor that guided me forward, even in the face of uncertainty. This insight emphasizes the importance of self-confidence and can be a powerful addition to any narrative about personal growth and perseverance. As I prepare to embark on this new adventure as an IISMA awardee at Universidad de Granada, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. To anyone pursuing a similar path, remember that every challenge is a chance to discover something new about yourself. Stay true to your journey, embrace the unknown, and let each experience guide you towards your dreams. Not to forget, I would like to extend my gratitude for (kak) Muhammad Luqman for his guidance and support as my IISMA AC mentor throughout this journey. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

[Per Aspera Ad Astra] I’m thrilled to share that I’ve achieved a long-held dream of becoming an Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards awardee by Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia) and will head to Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The path to this achievement was filled with challenges, and I wanted to reflect on some key lessons learned from this journey: 1. Determination: The application process was rigorous and demanded unwavering commitment. Balancing academic responsibilities with preparing a standout application required intense focus and persistence. 2. Resilience: Facing rejection and handling setbacks was tough. Each hurdle was an opportunity to refine my approach and strengthen my resolve. Embracing these challenges as part of the growth process made the eventual success even more meaningful. 3. Support Network: My mentors, professors, and family were instrumental in this journey. Their guidance, feedback, and encouragement provided the necessary motivation and insight, reminding me that I was not alone in this endeavor. 4. Continuous Learning: Preparing for the IISMA award involved not just understanding the application requirements but also reflecting on my personal and academic goals. This journey enhanced my problem-solving skills, adaptability, and self-awareness. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my mentor Allysa Ramadhani and my closest supporters. Your unwavering belief in my potential, invaluable advice, and encouragement were the pillars that held me up through the toughest moments. To my family, friends, and mentors, your support was a driving force behind this achievement, and I am deeply grateful to each of you. Becoming an IISMA awardee is a significant milestone that underscores the power of perseverance and hard work. I’m excited about the opportunity to study at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and embrace this new chapter of growth and learning. To anyone navigating similar challenges, remember that the journey itself is a powerful teacher. Stay determined, seek support, and embrace every learning opportunity. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who believed in me and supported this journey. Your encouragement was a driving force behind this achievement. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding (This post is compulsory for IISMA Alumni Club's ACE mentoring program) cc Izaaz Rahman Akbar

Two master’s degrees, one incredible year—an achievement I’ll cherish forever 🎓🌍" This past year has been a whirlwind of challenges, growth, and unforgettable experiences, and I’m beyond grateful to celebrate a major milestone: completing my second master’s degree—an MBA in International Business from Hanze Groningen Netherlands. Pursuing two master’s degrees in one year has pushed me to grow not just academically but personally. I first had to adapt to the lifestyle and culture of the UK while completing my MSc, then moved to the Netherlands to pursue my MBA. Just as I settled in, I had the opportunity to move again—to Germany during a mobility week project. Each transition brought new challenges and valuable lessons, teaching me the importance of flexibility, resilience, and embracing the unknown. One of the most memorable experiences was during the mobility week in Germany, where I collaborated with a microbiologist to handle the financials of a product launch. This unique opportunity honed my skills in business and finance while helping me build a wider network of professionals and friends across different fields and countries. These experiences have shown me the value of stepping out of my comfort zone and immersing myself in new environments. Adapting to three different cultures within a single year has not only broadened my perspective but also enriched my life with memories, friendships, and lessons I’ll cherish forever. As I reflect on this journey, I feel immense gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had and the support I’ve received along the way. Completing two master’s programs within a year has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding achievements of my life. I’ve also created a YouTube video where I share my plans moving forward. If you’re curious about what’s next, please check it out! 🎥 Have you ever had an experience that pushed your boundaries and changed your perspective? Let’s celebrate growth together—repost and share your story, or connect to inspire each other! #Graduation #MBAJourney #InternationalBusiness #GlobalExposure #Adaptability #ProfessionalGrowth #LifeLessons #NextSteps #SelfImprovement #LeadershipTips #professionaldevelopment #productivity #generalknowledge #careergrowth #management #lifelessons https://lnkd.in/es8VKkKn

A glimpse of my IISMA scholarship selection journey ✨ The Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) is a student exchange program that provides an international education experience. The first time I heard about it, I was so interested. I think this will be much more challenging but will also give me more improvement. Through the IISMA selection process, I realized I would compete with other outstanding students in Indonesia, So I studied harder. But on the other hand, the selection process has taught me a lot of things. The things that I learned through: ✨ conquer the fear Several IISMA applicants triggered me, as I believe many of them are more intelligent and better than me. But I decided to conquer all the fear of rejection and focus on my progress. I think there will be no effort in vain. IISMA taught me to control myself and my feelings. ✨ Self-appreciation During the selection process, I learned I must diligently appreciate my small and significant achievements. In addition, I started to embrace my weaknesses because IISMA does not only care about strengths and achievements but also about how to embrace one's weaknesses. ✨ Dare to have a bigger goal. I learned to dare to enlarge my goals. IISMA made me more courageous in achieving goals abroad, such as introducing foreign culture, being involved in foreign organization activities, and many other things. ✨ Become more aware of the beauty and importance of Indonesian culture. IISMA is closely related to cultural ambassadors. I already knew that. Therefore, I started to explore information about Indonesian culture, especially my homeland, where I would like to promote the culture abroad to become more aware of its beauty. Finally, I had the opportunity to be an awardee at the National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, Taiwan. I feel fortunate and am trying to make this opportunity a place to show my best and learn to improve. IISMA has played a perfect role in my life, starting from the selection process, the departure process, and all its activities 🫶🏻 Thanks for teaching me an insightful personal branding lesson, Youmal Dwi Santoso #ToinclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards National Yunlin University of Science and Technology #ToinclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

Looking back on my journey through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) selection process, I can’t help but feel a mix of exhaustion and immense gratitude. The registration period coincided with my KKM program at university, which meant I was far from home, constantly on the move to meet document requirements. It was a tiring phase, but one that was incredibly rewarding. These are the 3 things that I learned along the way of my selection process : Preparation is Key: I learned this the hard way. Proper preparation well in advance can make all the difference, especially when deadlines are looming. It’s something I’ll carry with me in all future endeavors. Hard Work Pays Off: Dedication and effort are never wasted. Every bit of hard work I put into the application process showed in the results. The journey might have been tough, but the outcome made it all worth it. Personal Branding Matters: The IISMA selection process taught me the significance of personal branding. Presenting yourself authentically and effectively is crucial, and this experience has greatly improved my understanding of it. Finding out that I was accepted as an IISMA awardee was a moment of immense pride. It’s an honor and a dream come true to be an international exchange student. My goal is to learn more about international relations, languages, and cultures, while also exploring the world. I want to express my gratitude to the Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan for facilitating this program and offering me this amazing opportunity for growth and development. I’m incredibly thankful to the awardee alumni at my university, especially Shanaz and Siti Hanisa, who mentored me through the process. Their mock interviews, tips, and tricks were invaluable. I also extend my gratitude to Jonathan Salomo Sianturi as my ACE mentor. Looking ahead, I plan to be an ambassador as an IISMA awardee at Universiti Sains Malaysia. I aim not only to introduce my own culture and background but also to immerse myself in the culture of my host country. I hope to inspire my fellow students to pursue this incredible opportunity as well. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding
