This week’s #SummitOfTheFuture will see the adoption of the Global Digital Compact, laying the groundwork for the future of digital governance. Objective 5️⃣ of the Global Digital Compact is to “Enhance international governance of artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity”. 🌐   In August 2023, the United Nations Secretary-General announced the establishment of a Multistakeholder High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence (AI), appointing Head of Anticipatory Action and Innovation at UNU-CPR Eleonore Fournier-Tombs as Lead Researcher.    In the lead-up to the Summit of the Future, UNU-CPR has been consolidating key questions surrounding global AI governance. This Technical Note presents these findings in a three-part structure:   ▶  a rationale for the UN-led global governance of AI;   ▶  a description of the building blocks of a global architecture for AI, adapted from existing models of global governance;   ▶  and four decision points for members of the High-Level Advisory Body on AI, related to agile policymaking, multistakeholder engagement, interoperability and scope.    Access “A Global Architecture for Artificial Intelligence” here: https://lnkd.in/eMYJTiNP #OurCommonAgenda
