The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recently published Proceedings of a Workshop on Effective Health Communication in the Current Information Environment and the Role of the Federal Government (https://lnkd.in/gse5nSVa). As part of the panel on listening to and engaging communities, I shared 11 practical considerations for virtual stakeholder engagement.

By fostering responsibility, curiosity, and open dialogue, we can lay the groundwork for a more promising future in healthcare communications in the AI era.
"When planning your experiments, our AI specialists within the Foresight Committee have found that the right question isn’t “What’s the right use case for my organization?”. It’s more often: “What are the challenges my organization is facing today, and where can AI help?”. By focusing in on the ideal end point and working backwards, AI can help address organizational pain points and considerations such as time to production, quality, engagement/enjoyment, and efficiency."

I'm not a huge fan of self-citation, but amplifying needed considerations through media where audiences may not otherwise engage is a necessary responsibility of advocates, both in life sciences, and in artificial intelligence.
It is with that intention of informing, inspiring and innovating that I'm thrilled to share our collective work with the Healthcare Communications Association (HCA), just published in Taylor & Francis Group's CMRO
Thanks to my co-author, Elizabeth Mercer, to our Foresight Chair, Rhiannon Meaden, to the HCA CEO, Mike Dixon and to the team at T&F, especially Mithi Ahmed-Richards and Kelly Ann Soldavin
Please shout with any thoughts and we look forward to continuing the conversation:

Yesterday, while reflecting on stakeholder-focused strategies, I revisited a compelling article by Andrew Dudum, CEO of hims & hers, discussing health tech trends for 2024 (I'll link it below for those interested).
One trend that resonated with us at MOWE Studio is the shift towards personalized healthcare for all, not just the elite. We've explored how technology enables us to tailor and broaden the impact of our clients' messages, fostering a unique bond between brands and users. Andrew's emphasis on leveraging data insights and centering on people mirrors our beliefs.
To my peers in health tech, what strategies or tools are you using to ensure your communications feel personal and engaging across the user journey?
With more people active on social media than ever before, the healthcare sector faces a crucial task: countering misinformation online. I thought how does this affect the life sciences industry?
I read an interesting article that was recently published online by Medscape which explores practical strategies like empowering professionals with accurate information, fostering collaborations, and using technology to combat false narratives in real-time.
Let's discuss how we can ensure reliable healthcare information prevails online. Join the conversation and read more on Medscape's article on "Confronting Healthcare Disinformation"

NORC's Health Implementation Science Center (HISC) had a busy and productive 2023! What with generating over a 100 products (webinars and the like) and 19 peer-reviewed publications, across diverse subject areas such as patient safety and care quality, digital health and informatics, SDOH, AI in PCOR, and data linkages for patient-centered economic research, to name a few. Check out a helpful infographic enclosed in the post below.
We’re celebrating another year of impactful collaboration!
