What a perfect day. To talk about accessible, and therefore inclusive, technologies on a day like Valentine's Day. When talking about accessibility, this is how we have to start looking at it; it is about appreciating your audience and welcoming them without hindrance to being interested in what you offer them. If you are an information site, make sure everyone can read or listen to your posts in a way that makes sense. If you sell products, everyone who wants to give you money can do that without problems. And if you make a game, everyone who bought it can play it and enjoy it to its full potential. You only have to keep this in mind: people want to use your product. Don't alienate them by making your product hard to use. Accessibility does precisely this. It provides 'access' to what you have to offer. If you do your part in delivering an accessible product, I can guarantee you that the people who rely on accessible products have done their part by using assistive technologies. This should be the only reason you need to change your thoughts about being accessible. It is the right thing to do for your audience and the smart way to design and build your products. Happy Valentine's Day!
