Very nice new article by Alexis Tourbier et al. on how to exploit and extend the isoAdvector concept to perform two-phase flow simulations with numerically consistent transport of passive scalars near the fluid interface: https://lnkd.in/di6VRvXf #cfd #openfoam #twophaseflow #multiphase #opensource #isoadvector

If you are working on ocean waves with OpenFOAM, this paper will be extremely useful for you. Researchers from DTU (Technical University of Denmark) carried out a very thorough benchmark for interFoam performance for wave problems. They started with the numerical schemes and solver settings from the famous Dam Break tutorial and pointed out these default settings are not good enough for accurate wave simulations. And they provided insights on various numerical schemes, Courant number and isoAdvector algorithms for the improved accuracy and free-surface shape maintenance. Here is the link to the paper. https://lnkd.in/gdtyBUm5 Disclaimer: The image is from the paper but no copyright infringement intended.
