“What we are seeing is the coming into being an integrated digital art market which has both end-points where new work by major artists can be both seen by—sometimes—millions of people, and bought by collectors. That possibility has opened doors for artists of a previous generation of digital art for whom the fragmentation of digital art has meant both creative opportunity but also a terrible fragility in the preservation and market-access of their work.” #artandtechnology #arttech #digitalart #artNFTs #contemporaryart #digitalownership #futureofcollecting #futureoftheartmarket

The open call selections for our May show have been chosen and announced! This piece is by SHUM. I was captivated by this piece and even more excited to know it was the first time this talented group of artists works would be shown in the states. Here’s the software used: • TouchDesigner • Adobe Lightroom • Adobe After Effects • Stable Diffusion • Automatic1111 • Ableton Live This piece will be minted on The Arbitrum Foundation chain on a Transient Labs ERC1155TL contract. ERC1155TL fully supports EIP-2981, allowing creators to configure royalties on-chain. This implementation provides contract-level default royalty configurations and the flexibility for individual token overrides. To further protect creators' rights, #Transientlabs introduced the BLOCKLIST feature. BLOCKLIST enables creators to PREVENT their creations from being listed on platforms that do not honor royalties. This reinforcement of value ensures that creators' royalties are respected by those who showcase and sell their art. It also allows for STORY INSCRIPTIONS. Because art transcends visual form, their is a story behind the art. Capturing and sharing these narratives in the decentralized space has been challenging and this #innovation allow's artists and collectors to immortalize their narratives on the #blockchain, ensuring their stories remain immutable and censorship-resistant. This is the power of art & technology! This piece is titled : Insertion Loss Insertion loss, a term in radio engineering or telecommunications, signifies the attenuation of a signal by an element within a circuit. This artwork is our imagination on how people could share their feelings, emotions and thoughts to each other without the use of words. "Insertion loss" combines the tools of sound design, video art, Lev Kuleshov's editing principles and AI to immerse the viewer in a state of brief meditation and co-tuning with the companion. Please stop by the gallery at 2018 Main Street and see this piece in person. Your computer screen, does not do it justice.

This is a very important step towards the normalization process that is occurring internationally with contemporary arts-based practices. It is critical that we finally, after many decades of waiting, inter-connect the various arts communities into an integrated, pluralistic and informed hybrid model of art creation, appreciation, distribution, preservation and canonization. Well done, Alex! There is a turning point that you are helping to make happen.
Art collecting today is a hybrid activity because contemporary art is a world of hybrid practices. My article for Art Basel's Art Market Insights seeks to introduce collectors to some of the people, publications and platforms that make up the digital art world in 2024, which is a very different place to the NFT space of 2021. Special thanks to Dr. Jeni Fulton, Coline Milliard and Alain C. Brusch for the chance to drive Digital Dialogue between two art worlds that are gradually moving closer together. CONSORTIUM.VIP MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - TWO TWO EXPAND YOUR VISION Experience The World's First Metamersive™ Art Gallery. TWO TWO is the world’s first Interactive Art Gallery. It resides contemporaneously within the convergence of the actual and the virtual. The work of visionary, established and emerging artists is merged with multi-dimensional technology to promulgate co-existence with illustrative imagination. We have our view of what art is. It may be different to yours. Anything digital can be encapsulated within an NFT. This includes but is not restricted to graphics, movies, music, voice recordings or any combination of these. Once a piece of digital art is encapsulated in an NFT and minted on chain, the record of its existence and all its subsequent trades is immutable and transparent. The only way it can be removed is for it to be “burned” if this functionality is provided for in the smart contract a specific NFT. In short, an Art NFT is a work of digital art that resides within a token which provides an indisputable digital rights management mechanism. Steven W Meistrich

Today, in our "Collector Focus" series, we spotlight PROOF, a pioneering NFT platform and community dedicated to creating unique experiences that allow digital art collectors to connect with artists, enabling collectors to own and advocate for their art. They believe that art, from ancient cave handprints to modern screen pixels, is a vital link in our shared human history, shaping our stories, cultures, and societies. PROOF provides community-centered NFT collections celebrating art and fostering connections among collectors and creators. Known for projects like Moonbirds and PROOF Collective, it features an exclusive group of dedicated NFT enthusiasts and artists. Beyond its community, the platform concentrates on curating NFT art by organizing exhibitions. Their current show features the first solo exhibition of Other World, showcasing works that offer an exploration of the human condition's darker aspects, melding classical compositions with hooded figures. They also maintain a collection of works from various artists, including "ZENTRUM" by Herbert W. Franke, an endlessly running abstract animation featuring structural elements and random codes, combined with music and interactivity developed in 1979. "Unsynthesized #423" by Sofia Crespo explores the concept that the visible world is constructed from invisible elements. It illustrates how ascorbic acid (vitamin C), a substance our bodies cannot produce, transforms at the microscopic level into generative structures. "In the Air" by Osinachi highlights the overlooked history of African soldiers in World Wars I and II, focusing on the scarcity of images showing Africans with gas masks, despite their significant involvement and the widespread use of such protective gear during these wars. PROOF believes we are in an era of cultural revolution, witnessing a digital renaissance where art becomes accessible for everyone to appreciate, own, and share.

At Simple AI, we always do things differently. While others, more experienced and with better 'pedigree' than Neerav Sood & I, have run after funding and investors, we have built from scratch, ensuring that independence in our thoughts has shown through in our product. This led to the development of M.I.N.I.O.N. a digital worker program. While Neerav handled most of the technical aspects of the code, I toiled hard to reach out to potential customers and talk to them about our innovative product. We cut though a lot of apprehension and faced a lot of criticism initially. The 'You've got to be kidding' and 'You don't know anything about our business' voices were very loud initially. We had a lot of setbacks too, both technically and in the business domain. Then, as we endured, we faced our first success. A kind soul (who requested anonymity) accepted a pilot project at a large car dealership for our first customer service model. We knew it was just the beginning but this boosted our confidence and we dove in head first into the realm of entrepreneurship once more. The hard work yielded 250k in ARR within six months. With this, also came the realisation that our heart wasn't in it. We could not see ourselves working in M.I.N.I.O.N. for the rest of our lives. Moreover, both Neerav and I had discovered a project that we could relate to much more emotionally and one which was resonated much better with our financial goals as well. Very soon we received an offer to sell M.I.N.I.O.N. through Neerav. The choice was clear. We loved what we had done but it was time to sell and move on to the project that was closer to our hearts - AllMark, a secure platform for Artists. Today marks the official announcement of the start of AllMark. We have applied to Y Combinator & Techstars to begin with. We hope that we are accepted and receive the resources and mentorship necessary to make this product a resounding success.
