As I suspected, a surprising number of us use Leap for desktop and prefer it that way. I'm skeptical that Slowroll will serve the same purpose well. There is unique proprietary software compatibility that Leap currently enjoys, that I find it hard to believe will be supported on something that isn't as closely aligned with the SUSE offerings. I'm concerned about the future of MATLAB, Ares Commander, and other engineering software on the platform. That being said, it is obvious that the distribution must take on the direction that motivates contributors, and despite what some users may believe, the contributing community's opinion should and does carry much more weight than those of us that are merely users.
