OpenTable’s Post

Our team is in awe of how quickly LA restaurants have sprung into action to help their community— stepping up to offer free meals to displaced residents, evacuees and first responders, providing shelter, and creating a small amount of normalcy amid heartbreaking loss and disruption. Through various initiatives, OpenTable is pledging to commit over $1 million in support of the industry’s relief efforts and will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with restaurants in this community that make our business possible.  As a first step, OpenTable has donated $100,000 to help offset the costs for our LA-based restaurants that are offering relief. We’ve also launched a public GoFundMe so that others can join us in sustaining this vital work and help restaurants help even more people.  This is just the beginning. What a great idea. Wonderful to see the world putting aside their differences and coming together to help those that need the help. Hopefully, this will lead to more ways to serve those that need help in other parts of world.

Love this! I’ve already heard from local restaurants that their business has been significantly impacted and incredibly slow. Yet, they are still pouring out to the community amidst their own hardships.
