Former Senator 11th Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹 Trinidad & Tobago National Reparations Committee Member
Golf as a sport for economic transformation in Southwest Trinidad My paternal grandfather Oswald Paris was an avid golfer. There are two things I know about him one is that he was serious about development as he contributed to the Credit Union Movement via Texaco Employees Credit Union and that he was deeply into sports. Watching this video about the role of African American pioneers in golf who paved the way for a Tiger Woods to even be possible is inspiring. Golf locally can be a tool for economic transformation especially for Southwest Trinidad. When we consider that there are three dormant courses in Brighton (La Brea), Bennet Village (Los Bajos, Palo Seco) and Clifton Hill (Point Fortin) these can be revitalised. When we add the possibility of small hotels/entertainment centres on these courses it can serve as an opportunity for domestic tourism. The benefits of sports in the lifestyle of citizens will also ensure that this non-contact sport enhances the healthy living of citizens as we age. Golf enthusiasts from Southwest Trinidad let us have this conversation about revitalising our three golf courses and work toward adding another layer in the economic transformation of our nation. https://lnkd.in/eiBkvcGX

I kicked off my week with a trip to Prestwick for a client review. I’m glad I wasn’t coming for a swim - All of you cold plungers are brave people by the way! I love getting out and about visiting clients, hopefully the weather is better next time and I’ll bring my golf clubs… not my speedos! 😂 #FinancialPlanning #TakeControl #MoneyMatters #FinancialEducation #WealthManagement

We’ve been working with Toptracer for more than six years now but it never ceases to amaze us how truly transformative the process of installing the technology can be for a myriad of golf businesses. Recently we’ve been exploring Toptracer’s impact on their customers’ business, and the results are staggering. Here’s just a small snapshot of some of the feedback: 📈 Since installing Toptracer at Forthview Golf Range Airth, Falkirk in 2018, the range’s revenue has increased by over 600%, and the range is now planning to install 10 additional range bays 🏌♂️ GLOUCESTER GOLF CLUB LIMITED has seen the number of range balls hit annually go from 400,000 to 1.8 million in just 12 months 👏 Playsport Golf Range experienced 90% revenue growth in their first year with Toptracer in 2023 And there are many more examples of growth across 35+ markets globally. It’s hard to believe there has ever been a company that can be as transformative to facets of the industry as Toptracer is right now. Watch out for a deeper dive into these and more through 2024. We have over 30 years of frontline experience; 29 years of academic history of research; client experiences and lived experience and so much more…Breaking down any legislation does not require a legal mind or legal expertise, however, it does add value. Forums and Workshops are essential and an investment in embedding a comprehensive understanding of the new Coercive Control offence, ensuring appropriate and efficient responses and identification, which will save lives. It was incredible at the weekend to see Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston finish 3rd in the Omega European Masters on the DP World Tour at the stunning Crans-Montana golf course in Switzerland. The reason it was incredible was because Beef has had to overcome potentially career ending injuries to keep coming back. Not just coming back but coming back to be on the verge of winning again. Is there anything sweeter than overcoming adversity and proving to yourself and others that you could come back and be successful, sometimes even more successful than you were before. It’s dosent have to be injury, it could be any set back in your career. It’s easy to give up when it’s hard, the hard part it to keep turning up, the hard part is to keep being 1% better than you were yesterday and achieving things no one thought you were capable of. Sometimes the goal isn't to be the best, it's to be better than yesterday, even if it’s 1% better. The hard times are where you learn more about yourself, the hard days are the most important ones. It's easy to turn up when you feel good, but it's crucial to show up when you don't feel like it, even if you do less than you hope, your still doing more than if you did nothing at all. Turning up when it’s hard reaffirms your identity. It's about becoming the type of person you want to be. Today, Turn up, Do your best, with what you have, right now and everytime, even when no one is watching and sooner or later your potential ability will frighten you. To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest Accomplishment. -RALPH WALDO EMERSON #LeadingTheCharge #KeepTurningUp #FireCatchesFire #LightTheFuse #HigherFasterFurther

I help entrepreneurs and professionals make smart financial decisions through Wealth Visualization | Founder | AI | Golf
What an incredible experience playing with two PGA TOUR pros who are not only skilled but also great stewards of the game of golf. We are reminded of three key traits essential for success both on the course and in personal wealth: 1. Discipline: Stick to the plan, whether it's course management or a financial strategy. 2. Adaptability: Adjust to changing conditions, such as high winds or personal challenges. 3. Mental Toughness: Stay calm under pressure, whether facing a tough shot or market volatility. Just as professional golfers hone these skills over decades, at Farther, we apply the same experience to help our clients build generational wealth. Overcoming obstacles is easier with strong partners, appreciate you guys Tyson Lokke, CFP®, Austin Knowles, NQPC™, Andrea Quiruz, and Keenan Polan. #Farther #TeamFarther #WealthManagement #Renegades #Discipline #Adaptability #MentalToughness #GolfAndFinance #Barracuda
