Operation Homefront recently hosted a baby shower for 100 new and expecting military families from Kitsap County! Families enjoyed games, connected with fellow military families, and received baby bundles filled with essential items. A huge thank you to our generous sponsors and donors: Walmart, Delta Children, Huggies® Healthcare™ and Procter & Gamble for making this event possible. Your support helps us continue to serve and support our military families! 💙 #MilitaryFamilies #CommunitySupport #Gratitude

While most #Veterans transition smoothly into civilian life, some face service-related challenges that expand the federal governments capacity to address. For those of us in the #VeteranSpace, the need often feels, unending. Consequently, communities, often unfamiliar with #military needs, must support these Veterans. Well intentioned people across #nonprofits, #government, and #CharitableOrganizations, assume what a Veteran needs, and often duplicate services or put resources into solving a problem that doesn't exist. At Veterans Bridge Home, collective impact, remains at the forefront of our mission. Using technology systems like Unite Us with our community partners like Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and The Jeff Cohen Charitable Foundation allows for us to provide wrap around services across the social determinates of health. Even better? We can document those instances to demonstrate what #CharlotteVeterans greatest needs currently are and target our efforts on ensuring those partnerships remain strong. #VeteransBridgeHome #BeTheBridge

To address this issue, HMP Global is partnering with Stop Soldier Suicide — a national nonprofit working to reduce the military suicide rate by 40% by 2030 — for the 2024 Day of Giving. On Friday, August 16, a portion of all HMP Global event and program registrations will support Stop Soldier Suicide’s lifesaving work. Military, veterans, and first responders may suffer from stress and anxiety. It's important to remember that you are only responsible for the things that you have the right and ability to control. You are not responsible for the things you don't. Want to talk about this more? We'd love to connect with you. 40-44 Veterans per day take their own lives, according to a study conducted by Duke and Alabama universities. This statistic includes both suicides and overdose deaths .... However, with the abundance of information available today, it can be difficult to determine what to believe. Some data suggests that veteran suicides are decreasing, while others claim they are staying relatively the same or even increasing. The numbers also vary depending on the state, the type of data analysis, and the specific year. Regardless, even one suicide or overdose is too many, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our #veterans in every aspect. If we are unable to personally provide assistance, we partner organizations that can help. There is support available, and we are here to provide it. If you are interested in getting involved or would like to make a donation to support our cause, please send us a message or visit the following link: https://buff.ly/47Lgwue.
