🚘 Electric vehicles are quiet, but in some cases they are too quiet 🤫! This is why different regions (EU, US, China) have introduced pedestrian alerting system regulations (also known as AVAS). 🔊 Such regulations are requiring electric vehicle to create artificial sound at low speed to make sure pedestrian or cyclists can hear them properly. Speaker placement & integration and sound design should be carefully crafted in order to meet these regulations while making sure the sounds is not annoying and not perceived inside the vehicle. 🤗 In Actran 2023.2, a new AVAS workflow is available to recombine sound sources with calculated or measured transfer functions and ensure compliance with regulations. This useful tool will allow sound designer and NVH engineers to easily iterate on all relevant parameters and confirm compliance with the regulation requirements. I’ve just finished my most satisfying project yet—not just because I love the end result, but because I leveled up my editing skills too. With each video, I push myself to learn something new: a fresh effect, a better way to cut, or a new approach to audio normalization. I’m really happy with how this one turned out. Here's the new stuff I tried: 1. Camera shake effect for a more dynamic feel. 2. Adjustment layers in DaVinci Resolve—makes adding effects way easier, and you can pre-configure and save them for future use. 3. A new approach to audio, keeping levels at -14 LUFS with a hard limit of -1 LUFS. Let me know what you think about it.
