🚀 The first private spacewalk is a success! 🌌 With Polaris Dawn, the mission led by Jared Isaacman, we've just reached a historic milestone: the first-ever spacewalk completed by a private crew! This is just the beginning! Thanks to private spaceflights, we can collect data more frequently and quickly, speeding up our understanding of how space affects human health. One key focus is studying conditions like Spaceflight-Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome (SANS), which affects astronauts' vision. Polaris Dawn is also paving the way for groundbreaking research into how space radiation impacts our DNA, RNA, and other biosamples taken from the crew. These insights are crucial for the future of long-term space missions. 🧬 Every step in space brings us closer to understanding how to protect ourselves as we explore new worlds. ⚡ Do you want to be part of this revolution? A joint mission between the Austrian Space Forum and the Armenian Space Agency, dubbed AMADEE-24, will commence its Mars analog simulation in Armenia on March 12. Six analog astronauts from Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain will undertake isolation until April 5, conducting experiments in human factors, robotics, and geology. The mission, involving over 200 scientists from 26 countries, aims to prepare for future Mars missions. The simulation will replicate communication delays with a Mission Support Center in Vienna to simulate Mars-like conditions. Conducting experiments with drones and rovers, the mission will provide insights into future human exploration and planetary sciences.
