This report from our research partners Abt Global, the Urban Institute, and MEF Associates describes the Analysis Plan for the Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) 2.0 Longer-Term Impact Report, with a focus on understanding the impacts of the HPOG 2.0 program through five and a half years of follow-up. It describes the methodology for addressing the following research questions: • What are the training experiences of study members past the three-year mark? Do study members eventually receive longer-term credentials? Does the share of members with any credential grow? • What are the impacts on longer-term earnings? • Does longer follow-up change our interpretation of the estimated impact on earnings? • How does healthcare employment and the impact of the offer of HPOG 2.0 on healthcare employment evolve with longer follow-up? • How does the impact of the offer of HPOG 2.0 on earnings for recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) evolve with longer follow-up periods? https://buff.ly/4auclUk #HealthCare #Education #Training #CareerPathways

Interprofessional Educator at Baycrest Health Sciences | Ontario Centres for Learning, Research & Innovation in Long-Term Care | PME Candidate at Queen's University
Last week Stacey Guy, Ph.D., Anitha Ithayalingam, MPH and I had the opportunity to present on Knowledge Mobilization at the Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care. Here's a brief recap of our insights and takeaways: We began with a brief overview of the Ontario CLRI and who we serve. However, the bulk of the presentation was dedicated to the programs strategy for KMb, aiming for attendees to relate it to their own work. Stacey Guy, Ph.D. broke down the program-level approach into five categories: how, who, why, what, and where. 🎯 Consider the 'Why': At the Ontario CLRI, we want to encourage folks to change how they do things in the long-term care sector. KMb helps achieve this by providing us the tools to share the latest information, highlight the best ways of doing things, and make sure these changes are sustainable. 🌍 The 'Where': KMb operates within a dynamic context, influenced by macro, meso, and micro factors. It's not confined to a singular level; it's woven into the fabric of our entire program and individual projects. 👥 The 'Who': Mandated by the government, the Ontario CLRI Program serves the long-term care sector. But the 'who' of KMb extends beyond—it involves employees supporting KMb activities, partners for dissemination, and collaborators for guidance. ⚙ The 'What': Our projects range from site-specific to collaborative initiatives, incorporating KMb into everything we do. Developed by Graham et al., we have adopted the Knowledge to Action Framework, ensuring a seamless transition from knowledge creation to action. ❔ The 'How': Supported by the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care, the Ontario CLRI Program spans across three host sites. KMb isn't an add-on; it's embedded in our operational structures, activities, and outcomes! 🔑 Key Takeaways: 1. Tailored Solutions: KMb strategies ensure your product meets the needs of its users. 2. Integrated Impact: Embedding KMb in operations positively influences program outcomes. 3. Real-World Transformation: KMb actively transforms research into practical solutions, driving positive change. I'm excited to continue this KMb journey while contributing to meaningful change in the long-term care sector! 💡 #KnowledgeMobilization #CLRI #LongTermCare #PositiveChange

For #HealthLiteracyMonth, read our latest blog to learn more about the expanded definition from #HealthyPeople2030 and how the FDB (First Databank, Inc.) #Meducation solution is helping patients better understand and act upon medication instructions.
October is Health Literacy Month, a time to emphasize the importance of empowering patients to understand and act on trusted health information. At FDB, we fully align with the Healthy People 2030 initiative, which defines health literacy in two key ways: 1️⃣ Personal Health Literacy: An individual's ability to find, understand, and use health information for informed decision-making. 2️⃣ Organizational Health Literacy: The role of healthcare organizations in enabling equitable access to understandable health information for patients. Our Meducation® solution supports these definitions by simplifying complex medication instructions and making them accessible across over 30 languages. By enhancing both personal and organizational health literacy, we can improve patient outcomes, reduce readmissions, and empower communities to make healthier choices. Helping people understand their medication instructions starts with meeting them where they are. That means using their primary language and making the information easy to understand and read, including visuals. It's what we do at FDB (First Databank, Inc.). Ask us how. #CulturalCompetence #MedicationAdherence #HealthLiteracy

In AIPC-2024 it's a great opportunity to meet the eminent speakers who have the knowledge and experience in implementing and promoting collaborative education and practice in healthcare. IPE (Interprofessional Education) and IPP (Interprofessional Practice) are concepts in healthcare that aim to improve collaboration and teamwork among healthcare professionals. IPE involves bringing together students or practitioners from different healthcare disciplines to learn with, from, and about each other. It promotes effective communication, teamwork, and mutual respect. IPP, on the other hand, is the actual collaborative practice of healthcare professionals from different disciplines. It involves the active participation and cooperation of multiple professionals in assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care. IPE and IPP are essential for breaking down professional silos, addressing the complexity of healthcare, and providing holistic and patient-centered care.
