Before we close out Black History month, I took time this week to listen to 3 complete Martin Luther King Jr. Speeches.: 1. The Other America 2. What's Your Life's Blueprint, and 3. I've been to the Mountaintop. I know I have heard clips, but do not know that I have ever heard the complete speeches. Taking the time to do this was so worthwhile. To truly hear Dr. King's message, it is helpful to hear it in its entirety. To truly feel his message and appreciate the winding road King takes to lift up his audience and deliver his message with growing strength, you should listen to the whole speech. Injustice continues today in so many ways, but we have King's inspiration to guide us forward. To provide practical solutions to the challenges we face. King delivered his last speech, I've Been to the Mountaintop just 2 miles from where I was born 6 years later in downtown Memphis. He predicts his death and says that he has seen the promised land and that he might not get there with those in attendance. It is sad and eerie to hear Dr. King foretell of his death based on recent threats. What he leaves us with in this speech is justice in fighting for the sanitation workers of Memphis, but more importantly that through determination and unity, justice will be achieved. From the mountaintop, he has seen victory. His words stand as true today as they did 56 years ago. In his Mountaintop speech, Dr. King said, "Let us rise up with a greater readiness. Let us stand with a greater determination and let us move on in these powerful days, the days of challenge to make America what it ought to be. We have an opportunity to make America a better nation." We should always stand with greater determination to make America what it ought to be. It is a constant striving. Let us not point the finger at our fellow Americans for their differing points of view. As we head in to what will be a devise election year, let's rise up with greater determination to make America a better nation. Unity of purpose and a conciliatory tone are the path to a happier and more prosperous nation. Please take some time to listen to Dr. King's speeches in their entirety. 🇺🇸 ⚖

Team: On the eve of Memorial Day and not much more than a week from the 80th Anniversary of the beginning of Operation Overlord is a good time to reflect on the powerful gift we have been bestowed through the sacrifice of others. Specifically, the opportunity to effectively govern ourselves as free people. With that inheritance comes the compelling obligation to pass it on. Effective self-governance is not entertainment, or sport, or theater, and celebrity is not leadership. Representative democracy is tough work that demands curiosity, the respect for the rule-of-law, and citizens who can disagree agreeably on matters of policy knowing that they share a great many common concerns. Similarly, leaders of character understand their own accountability and the duty to others that comes with authority. As I see it, we owe future generations no less than the opportunity that has been given to us at great cost to so many. Keep pounding…W/r, 🦅🦅

Project Management in New builds as well as renovations.Vendor contract negotiations with a procurement and resource pathway
"Always try to be kind, it will come back to you... Never forget where you came from, it will keep you humbled". As many in this platform know I was in the military, which taught me discipline and teamwork within a brotherhood of camaraderie. Ask any vet what they miss the most about the military guaranteed they will say " camaraderie". Shortly after leaving the military I was asked to join the JAYCEEES. I really had no idea what or who a JAYCEE was or did, but I was about to find out and also find out it was what I NEEDED! The Jaycees focus on four areas of opportunity: *Business: Develop economic infrastructure and prosperity for communities *Individual: Realize personal potential through training programs *Community: Develop sensitivity to societal problems and community dynamics *International: Develop goodwill, understanding, and cooperation among all peoples . If I continued what I did or what the JAYCEES did for me, achieved and became this would be a very lengthy post. However, I believe in the four bullet points the word " humanity" should be stated. I thank both platforms for what they instilled within myself as I use the taught tools today, in both my personal and business/work life.

We can be critical of Kamala Harris positions and how she has addressed certain issues without being anti-Black. The genocide of the Palestinian people is an incredibly important issue to many of us. We want the US to stop funding Israel and giving them weapons. We want children to live. We want families to stay in tact. We want peace. However….. Seeing some of the replies to a post that I wrote, they feel anti-Black and racist. African-American men and women have supported the plight of nearly every people that has immigrated here (due to the policies we fought for) and nearly every people who has fought discrimination and bigotry across the world. Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and the Black Panthers are examples of this. Many African-American men and women on LinkedIn are examples of this. To write anti-Black rhetoric is to spit in our faces. Anti-Blackness is never the answer. Please do better. #kamalaharris #race #palestine #blackpeople #unity

It was my hunger to understand the origins and possibility of my experience as a Black woman in America that pushed me to more deeply explore the legacy of #RadicalMLK. Like many of you, I went to schools and listened to programs about his “dream” of racial equality. But, as I studied the arc of his activism, I discovered a more reflective MLK, a man who had become deeply depressed as he came to understand the true nature of racism and caste in America. Towards the end of his life, Dr. King came to understand a few things: 1. The visual presence of people of different racial backgrounds is not a signal of equality. 2. There is no “moral imperative” alone that can end racism when so many continue to reap the economic and political benefits of a flawed system. 3. True liberation can only be realized when people from all backgrounds understand the degree to which they are victims of a system built on a foundation of oppression. 4. America owes a huge debt to the descendants of chattel slaves in America. 5. Power over will never be as fruitful as power with.

The information provided by the DOJ is incredibly insightful. The governments perspective of Black people is blatant, audacious, and utterly egregious. God's people are not commodities of the state or the government's domestic service animals. Black people are enslaved to create government jobs. Children are stolen for lineage incorporation, depriving a people of their lives and obligating the lives of their children generation after generation. Reproduction, family, life, liberty, and property are controlled. The US department of JUSTICE believes the main goals of the BLACK LIBERATION ARMY is to kill police and financial EXTORTION. Why is it not that the purpose of the group is to liberate and uplift black people? People that are treated as less than animals in the land of the free? The US doesn't hold the same perspective of the People's Liberation Army of China. May God be with the governing powers of the world. To have power is to have the authority and ability to act. https://lnkd.in/gM3BTndW

I echo Isabeau B.'s sentiment – in the upcoming two weeks, we will be sharing profound posts featuring excerpts from the speeches and letters of two influential figures, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King and Lincoln Alexander. But before we delve into these powerful words, I urge each of you to go beyond a mere glance at a single sentence. Take the time to read and truly comprehend the depth of their messages. These leaders spoke against the backdrop of systemic racism, addressing the complexities embedded in their respective countries. To genuinely honour their legacies, let's commit to understanding the nuances of the challenges they confronted and the solutions they proposed. Let's recognize the existence of systematic racism in both the United States and Canada, and strive towards becoming actively anti-racist. Remember, it's not just about sharing a quote; it's about internalizing the meaning behind those words, acknowledging the struggles, and actively contributing to positive change. Let our posts be a reflection of informed understanding, fostering dialogue that contributes to a more inclusive and equitable future. Together, let's stand against racism and work towards building a world where justice prevails. 🌍✊🏽 #AntiRacism #MLK #LincolnAlexander #InclusionMatters #EqualityForAll

reminder to my white siblings: before you post MLK quotes next week, take some time to reflect and ensure that you are doing the requisite work to deserve to quote Dr. King a few things we can do to honor Dr. King's work in a meaningful way: read Dr.Kings letters and speeches in full and in the context of the complex reality of white supremacy in america spend the day reflecting and engaging in self-interrogation continue educating ourselves on how we can continue to divest from whiteness and unlearn anti-Blackness volunteer our time, labor, and money to support Black lead and organized events within our communities so, before you hit post on that quote...make sure you earned it and may the quotes you share monday align with the words and actions you choose over the next 364 days image: a weary Martin Luther King Jr. sat at the Rev. Ralph Abernathy’s first baptist church in montgomery, ala., as a white mob surrounded the building

I'm pretty sure I figured out the trick for how to save America - and I didn't realize it until we buried my grandfather, an Army veteran, yesterday morning. This is Grandpa Suter. Growing up, we use to play a game called Othello together. If you're not familiar with it, it's pretty simple - one player has white pieces and the other has black pieces. The goal is to flip all of your opponents colors to your color. It's a game of strategy and creativity. What does that have to do with saving America? It's pretty simple, really. Our society has arguably never been so incredibly divided. But so many times, we found ourselves just shutting down and not talking to others... furthering the divide between us even more than the screaming matches. But to win Othello.... the trick is to grab the corners - AKA establish a strong foundation. For me, the cornerstones are God, family, country and integrity. Then you need to be slow, methodical and purposeful to not use brute force... but rather to apply creativity and strategy to turn your opponent to your side. I'd love to see the lesson I learned from Grandpa Suter reposted all over the internet - because I'm pretty sure there are lots of us who need a reminder that sometimes it's strategy and not brute force that will convert people over to team America. Love and miss ya, grandpa - will see you on the other side. #Lawenforcement #QOTD #Thinblueline
