Which are the top diamond-tracking programs? How do they work? It's more nuanced than you might think. Or, it is just about as nuanced as one might expect from such a complex challenge as being able to trace a diamond throughout the distribution chain. I spoke with key players in the diamond-tracing field to understand their respective approaches for my latest piece published in the August issue of Rapaport Magazine. This is by no means a complete list, but I believe I covered the main players in the diamond traceability space. Avi, this is such an informative and interesting read! The creativity and advancements taking place in the field of diamond tracing are groundbreaking! The ideas, the technology and the possibilities have made our industry very hi-tech and this trend is here to stay! While each one has its merits and limitations, what we all agree upon is the need for a single integrated solution that can be applied universally across the industry and there are efforts being made- like the Tracr and Sarine collaboration for example. At present, Finestar's systems are easily compatible with the likes of Tracr, Sarine and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) programs however, as manufacturers this increases the complexity of our business. I have also spoken about this at the AGS Conclave 2024 earlier this year where I had a discussion with Johanna Levy [VP of ESG at GIA - GIA Source Verification Service, Ben Prior [De Beers Group - Tracr] and Heidi Creech [Rio Tinto -Diavik Sourced on the solutions and opportunities their respective traceability programs offer. The conclusion there too was the same! I am continuously exploring programs & solutions and am excited to collaborate to continue providing my clientele with exceptional experiences.

It's really important to understand how these processes work before you join them. There is a lot of misunderstanding out there, from a consumer and business point of view.

Thank you, Avi, for highlighting Authentia's approach to Provenance and Traceability. Interestingly, it seems Tracr also validated Authentia's methods by incorporating "Origin" and "Ownership" into their diagram; it appears that the audience in Dubai was attentive. #Tracr #Authentia #Provence #Traceability #Origin #Ownership
