Truck driver fatigue is an issue that affects a lot of truck drivers. Always make sure to take rest breaks as the driver and to give trucks on the freeways plenty of space to operate. #karnsandkarns #caraccidents #truckdrivers #trucks #accidents #fatigue

An image of a truck driver washing themselves in public, particularly at a rest stop or truck stop, can negatively impact the perception of the trucking industry. This scenario often highlights issues such as the lack of adequate facilities for truckers, but it can be seen as unprofessional or unhygienic behavior. For an image like this, you might consider: 1. A truck driver using a water bottle or hose to wash up in a rest area. 2. A driver cleaning themselves near their truck at a public parking lot. 3. An outdoor improvised shower setup at a truck stop. March Madness may have ended a little over a week ago, but the buzz around one particular trucking company’s playful bracket continues. North Carolina-based Cargo Transporters (CT) got a head start on Distracted Driving Awareness Month by gamifying driver safety. According to the CCJ Innovators blog, “CT created a challenge among its drivers three years ago that coincides with March Madness to “make safety fun” while improving driver safety scores, and it’s getting results – so much so that the company has expanded it.” CT installed state-of-the-art Lytx driver cameras into all their vehicles, enabling the company to track last-second braking and eyes-off-the-road distracted driving behaviors. Not only did this data help the company coach drivers on safer, more attentive tactics, they were able to provide safety scores over a six-week period for a 64-driver head-to-head competition. And it worked! Safety scores increased significantly, a commitment the company maintains long after March Madness ends. This brilliant initiative was only possible because CT was committed to adopting the most advanced technologies available on the market. We’re excited to help other trucking companies fuel similar initiatives with Storyboard Chat’s best-in-market hands-free communication tool. Safe driving is a habit that forms over time, and we’re all in favor of doing whatever it takes to encourage the most effective behaviors. #distracteddrivingawareness #transportation #technology

Federal regulations require seatbelt usage by commercial vehicle drivers, but many truckers do not wear them because they feel that they are uncomfortable or because they feel protected by the size of their semi-truck. Do you want a system smart enough to detect whether a seatbelt is used under the armpit or not at all? I can help! #deicsonsulting #deiselling #netradyne #driversafety #fleetsafety #safety #seatbelt

Basic driving habits practiced by motorists when sharing the road with trucks can save many lives. Safety on the road is every driver’s responsibility and knowing how to drive better and safer when sharing the road with heavies will make your journey all the more pleasant. Over the next few weeks we will share some basic, but essential, Safe Driving Tips for when sharing the road with heavy motor vehicles (HVM). * Stay out of their blind spots - Many accidents with trucks occur because the truck driver did not see a vehicle in adjacent lanes. Large trucks and buses have blind spots around the front, back, and sides of the vehicle. The largest blind spot for a trucker in a right-hand HMV is the left side of the vehicle. Other blind spots to avoid are the front of the cab and behind the trailer. Remember! If you can’t see the driver in the truck’s side mirror, he/she probably can't see you either. You can prevent driving in the blind spot by speeding up (in line with the speed limit, of course) or slowing down to stay visible in the truck’s mirrors. PTAG Safety Tip : Motorist don’t try to sneak into a small gap in traffic ahead of a truck. Don’t get in front of a truck and then brake to make a turn. Trucks take as much as three times the distance to stop as the average passenger car. #ptag #PTAGSafety #trucking #transportation #TransportationLaw
