Invisible Warriors: a 501c3 NONPROFIT, Empowering Women Veterans with PTSD, MST, and Invisible Illnesses
Have you ever wondered why it's so hard for nonprofit organizations to work together, share resources, and form partnerships? A recent survey asked this very question, and the responses were quite insightful. Some of the reasons given were differing missions and goals, limited resources, communication challenges, lack of trust, and power imbalances. It's a bit ironic, isn't it? In an industry dedicated to helping others, organizations often find themselves guarding their own little slice of the pie. But here's the good news – it doesn't always have to be that way! There are many wonderful organizations out there that are willing to lend a hand, share their knowledge, and offer assistance. And for that, we are truly grateful. Speaking of which, there's one local organization that deserves a special shout-out: Thrive Alabama. Led by the amazing Mary Elizabeth Marr, this organization has been an absolute gem. While their mission aligns with ours to some extent, they have gone above and beyond to support us with their kindness and expertise. So, if you're a Huntsville resident in need of medical care and don't know where to turn, Thrive Alabama is the place to start your search. Here's a glimpse into their mission and values: https://lnkd.in/gxbEqVev Let's spread the word about Thrive Alabama and organizations like them that truly embody the spirit of collaboration and compassion. Imitate the practice. 🌱 In hospice care, we can learn a lot from Brené's approach. Creating a safe space for end-of-life discussions involves trust, openness, and a judgment-free zone. 🤗 1. Start with empathy – understand the unique journey of each patient and family. 2. Cultivate openness – encourage sharing feelings without fear of judgment. 3. Foster a supportive environment – ensure everyone feels heard and respected. The results will follow. 🌟 Join our community to normalize the conversation about end-of-life care. 💬 #EndOfLifeCare #HospiceSupport #CompassionateConversations #normalizingtheconversation
