✅ This week, Novartis received FDA accelerated approval for #Fabhalta (iptacopan), making it the first complement inhibitor approved for IgAN. Though it will be third to enter the market, Spherix’s latest IgAN market tracking study highlights Fabhalta's potential to shake up the current landscape. The study shows that half of the surveyed nephrologists anticipate prescribng Fabhalta to at least one IgAN patient within the first six months, potentially positioning it ahead of #Tarpeyo and #Filspari at similar stages of their launches. 📈 Starting next month, we’ll begin our monthly tracking of Fabhalta’s launch in IgAN! #nephrology #IgAN #marketresearch

This study, from our Therapeutics Clinic, delves into the nuances of blood pressure responses to isometric handgrip exercise in patients with BHP, comparing the effects of tamsulosin and prazosin. Immense gratitude to my mentors Padmashree Shashank Joshi, Prof. Santanu Tripathi, and Prof. Jyotirmoy Pal, for their unparalleled guidance. Collaborating with Prof. Sandeep Gupta, a distinguished Urosurgeon at SSKM Hospital, was an extraordinary experience. I'm equally thankful for the relentless spirit and hard work of my colleagues, without whom this achievement wouldn't be possible. Our findings shine a light on the significant differences in diastolic blood pressure changes post hand grip (delta DBP) between the two drugs, contributing valuable insights into BHP management. A new study from Paraskevi Karamtzioti, Anna Ferrer Vaquer, PhD, Isabelle Vernos, Rita Vassena, and Gustavo Tiscornia investigates the profiles of tubulin post-translational modifications (PTM) in the meiotic spindles of oocytes with different developmental competence: in vivo matured MII oocytes (IVO) vs. cumulus-free in vitro matured GVs (IVM). The results show that all the modifications studied were present in human oocytes regardless of whether their meiotic maturation occurred in vivo or in vitro. The exception was detyrosination, which was found at low levels in the IVO group, but not at all in the IVM group, suggesting that the presence of tubulin PTMs may play a role in human oocyte maturation, completion of meiosis and developmental competence.
